About 18 months ago, I lucked into a six shot SP101 with the half lug barrel. So this week, I was able to snag a full lug version. I had the wood grips laying around, so swapped those out on the 1/2 lug as soon as I brought it home. Might just look for some nice inserts for the grips on the full lug.

Had one. Accurate. Cool look. Horrible trigger. Two trips to my master gunsmith and even he said he gave up. He did magic with my 101 357. And two Security Sixes.
I guess my home tuned 63 for small and my 1952 K22 for big will suffice. I really wanted to love it.

I got my .22LR SP101 DA trigger very smooth, and took off maybe 4lbs of pull weight, but it's still up around 13.5lbs with all the original springs. It's a blast to shoot and it's good practice for trigger technique. SA is around 4lbs, which is plenty good for me.

I put the Hogue rubber grips on mine even though I don't like the look. They just work so well.

Bought this 8 round SP101 used about 10 years ago and have had no issues. Previous owner changed the hammer spring to Wolff and so far no light strikes. Certainly not as good a trigger as my S&W’s but it is very predictable in double action. Also found the Speed Beez loading system to be most efficient.
