AAARRRGGG!!!! We had to be in Smyrna @ 1:30 for a soccer tourny because they won on Sat. Adman wanted to go shooting instead but @ $350 a pop for select season I had to veto him. :( It must have made him mad 'cause he went and scored 7 goals. :what: We really missed seeing you guys and will try to make the next one.

OEF Vet,

I forgot to mention that I did take the southern route out of Cheatham. It was interesting and as expected didn't conform to the map. After only one wrong turn we did make it out. We came out on a paved road that was only a few hundred yards from Hwy 70. The road had a few spots that were recently under water and some still were. 4 wheel drive wasn't necessary but it did help. It was certainly a comfort to know I had it. The whole day was a good adventure.

just woke up and my arm is killing me.... i ain't gonna be much use at work tonight...

that ar is mine... so's the blurry nickle smith...

you better start reoading 223 mark, cause you know you have to get one .... you can at least put one on layaway, then the wife will never know, say you won it in an internet contest, a raffle maybe... hhhmm..

had to have 4wd to get out of cheatham, yeah that sounds about right...

And since Darrin is without access for a while...Ill post his pics. And since they are his...ill lay off the snotty commentary with each one of the pics. Instead here is the gallery...

Kevin,

Next time you talk to Darrin, tell him I said thanks for taking a pic (#11) of my best side. Just what I want everyone to see, me bending over. :D

Actually, a lot of those pics came out really well. I think it was just a tad appropriate that the pics of the Bulldog 44 and M1917 (.45 ACP) were numbered 44 and 45 respectively. He couldn't have planned it better than that.

I woke up Monday morning and had a sore shoulder myself, but it was worth it. The wife and I had a great time. Thanks everybody for letting me shoot your toys. I'm looking forward to the next one. I have a lot of reloading to do now. Most of my supply of 41mag, 45 & 223 was shot up. I'm glad everyone enjoyed them.

I used to shoot at that range before I moved away. It's been about 3 years but looking at the pics posted here that place has turned into a dump.

There is no excuse for a range, even an unsupervised one, to look like that. I know it's a public range but if people expect it to be there when they choose to use it again had better start taking time out to keep the place cleaned up. This is exactly the kind of thing an anti would use to get the place closed down. Do we have enough places to shoot that we can sacrifice one?

The custom used to be that the range would look better when you leave than when you arrived.

Doug,

I'm happy to report that we did clean up a portion of the range before we left. However, there were quite a few people still shooting when we left, so it was a bit difficult to do much.

I couldn't make this one but am definitely in for the next. How about Saturday, Oct. 17?

I can also vouch for the place being in really rough shape before we arrived. The High Roaders there took the time to clean up what we could before leaving. With a realatively large number of people still shooting there was little that could be done with the targets and backstop areas. I don't understand why there are no trash barrels at each end of the firing line. Most trash could be burned or taken out if a container was provided to place it in.
