That whole post reeks of the arrogance that turns people off and makes them NOT care about your safety.

That is not "arrogance", it's reality. What you're talking about is appathy, as in "I don't care what your reason is.."
It's a shallow and one sided view, you're view, that contributes nothing to solving the problem. It's a ultimatium that you level, and than accuse the LEO's of doing the same, but somehow it's wrong of them to.

I am not a LEO, however, I too agree that a LEO doesn't get to pick and chose what laws needs to be enforced and what laws don't. That is the job of politicians.

Either LEOs cooperate in enforcing what they need to enforce or they get other employment. That said I do think they should use the discretion that they are allowed to use.

This thread keeps getting too close to "good guys/bad guys" insofar as LEOs and what they should or shouldn't do or can or can't do. It's gone way beyond the original question, as well...
