"I find it impossible to believe that all these different models are having this issue because anyone who reads the forums knows it is only the 870 that has any issue with extractions. Please check to make sure your gun is not an 870 in disguise ."

I have to admit. This one made me laugh out loud! I can't tell you how many people came to our club with a new 870 and Winchester steel based ammo. It was maybe the biggest single problem I can recall.

Sanding the inside of the magazine seemed to help. Also firing about 500 rounds through the gun helped too. It's probably the same thing.??

Good thread. I enjoyed reading it...

Everybody is having problems with every kind of gun using the cheap crap from Walmart, etc.

If you want your expensive gun to work as designed?

Buy more expensive brass head shells it was designed to work with.

The cheap steel head shells are like buying the cheapest gas you can find to put in your new 500 HP Corvette.

My observations as well. There are some brands that have the brass plated steel that works fine. It's a matter of trying to see which brands work well. In general, the really cheap wall art brands don't work well.

Yeah, cheap ammo tends to extract poorly. I recommend polishing the chamber with some steel wool. That helps a LOT.

Maybe the chamber, the shell doesn't extend into the bore itself; but you are still better off buying better ammo that costs less than the crap from wally world.

One can order online from Academy and for orders over $25, shipping is free. You can get RIOs and similar for less than wally world sells Universals.
