Is there a site that shows how to detail strip a FEG PA-63? I want to remove the safety lever.
I just picked one up, and AFAIAC the safety/decocker is worthless and in the way.
1. It is very difficult to get it to decock. Sometimes it doesn't want to work, and I just don't trust it. Well, if I use enough force, it seems to work every time, but it's just easier to decock the 1911 way.
2. Since you can't go cocked and locked, it's redundant as a safety (DA trigger pull on it is really heavy).
3. It's in the way of my right thumb.
4. It can make racking the slide a painful proposition.
I want to remove the entire lever, if possible to do so without altering any other function. If not, then hopefully I can remove it just long enough to dremel the offending protrusions off, before reassembling it.
