I will be travelling out west soon, to northwest WY/Yellowstone area by way of SLC. Any interesting gun shops in those areas that are worth stopping by? Would be most interested in shops with large inventory of used/antique/old firearms.

I've heard of one in Cody and I believe they have a museum on Buffalo Bill that is gotten rave reviews from a couple of friends that went through there four years ago. I would plan on spending some time in Cody.

Try Galleson (??) Guns in downtown Salt Lake City. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, lots of guns to choose from, and they like to shoot.

Look them up..

I like Gallenson's in downtown SLC, FBMG in Draper, Doug's Shoot'n'Sports in Taylorsville, Cabela's in Lehi, and Gunnie's in Orem. -- They're all along the I-15 corridor from SLC to Provo.

Cabela's in Nehi south of SLC
Heckuva dinosaur museum right across the freeway from them, too.
American Museum of Ancient Life--- Outstanding!!

For that I would try either Gallenson's in downtown SLC or Cabela's in Lehi (~35 minutes south of downtown SLC.) Not to be confused with Nephi, also along I-15 but entirely uninteresting.

If you prefer more modern "tactical" stuff, I would try hitting FBMG and Get Some.

For modern sporting new guns, Sportsman's Warehouse in Murray (~15 minutes south of downtown SLC).

Both Gunnie's and Doug's mentioned above are a bit out of the way and not worth that big of a detour, IMHO.

Where are you coming from to get to SLC, north on I-15?
