Looking to buy something new, and the FNS9c caught my eye. Put it next to the M&P9c and looked to be the same size, which is about the size I want. I know it hasn't been out long and I'm always hesitant to buy something that new. Any opinions from anyone that has one? Thanks!

I traded one of my safe queens for it a couple of weeks ago and can't speak highly enough about it. I love the ergonomics, the trigger is comfortable and crisp, it's accurate, reliable and the recoil is minimal. I'm having night sites put on it now, and it'll be one of my main carry guns once I get it back. I'm glad I took a chance on it. FNH may not get the press other companies get, but they make a great product and IMO hit a home run with this one.

Thanks Tom.

Do you have any experience with the M&P9c, Glock 19, or Glock 26? If so, how would you compare the accuracy and other attributes of the FNS9c with those?

(I won't ask how it compares to my beloved CZ models, because I have not found anything that can. :))

"Looking to buy something new" Ah, yes, money in search of a purpose/purchase - that can be fun and dangerous!

I got an FNS-9c a couple weeks ago, and have had one range trip so far. I think that it's well worth the money. Compared to the Glock 19/26, it has a M&P-style hinged trigger which is smooth-faced. No bladed safety lever like the Glock, so I think the trigger is more comfortable to my index finger. The reset is also a little different and I think I prefer it to the Glock's - it's short and positive, basically giving your finger a little push (with an audible and tactile click, maybe not quite as pronounced as the Glock), and it's ready to go again. Ergos are nice and work just fine for me. Slide serrations are available front and rear and they're cut pretty sharp. The molded stippling is on par with the Gen 4 Glocks, moderately aggressive and doesn't need enhancement from grip tape. It's a good deal, coming with 3 magazines (a 12, a 12-with-pinky-extension, and a 17-with-sleeve). Styling is subjective, of course, but I think it's nice - with more thought given to aesthetics than with the pugnacious pragmatism of the Glock.

In my opinion, it only lacks aftermarket support and record of durability/reliability to the Glock. (Though FN has been around much longer, the FNS line is still pretty new) I don't think I would hesitate to use it as a carry piece, given the right holster solution.

Thanks Tom.

Not the M&P or Glock 26, but I do have a Gen 3 19 and 27. With the standard Glock triggers, the FNS for me is much more accurate. I did just replace the trigger on the 19 with a Phantom Trigger from rockyourglock.com, and the 19 is now a close second to the FNS. It's much more accurate then the 27. With the FNS, from 21 feet using a B29 target, most of my shots were within the 9 circle or better. With the 27 and the 19 with the original triggers, I'm within the 8 circle or better and tend to shoot a little left. As I said, the 19 is now much better with the new trigger.

The trigger and ergonomics to me are much more comfortable than the 19 and 27 for pretty much the same reasons Bearfoot mentioned.

Tru Glo just came out with night sites for the FNS, and I'm having those installed now. There are going to be more holsters, etc. for thew Glocks, but I'm assuming as the FNS gains popularity that'll change.

I just picked mine up on Wednesday. I ordered the version without the manual safety. So far I'm very pleased. I bought it without ever holding one (a little unlike me). I've fired about 125 rounds through it. I had one FTF with Perfecta ammo. Will see how it goes as I move forward. I like that you get three different magazines to match different environments. I find the gun very comfortable. I do get a wee bit of slide bite off of the right side of the slide, but I have a very high grip, and while it bled a tiny bit, I didn't even notice it while shooting. My Glock can do the same thing to me sometimes. The trigger is very nice. Maybe not as good as a Walther striker trigger, but better than many others I've pulled.

The sights are large, which I like. The gun shoots and behaves a lot like a full-size to me. Takedown does require a pull of the trigger. Grip texture is pretty aggressive and could get rough on soft hands after a long range session. Accuracy is on par with most of my other pistols, as far as I can tell at this point. I'm waiting for the right holster to come along. I feel that the size is perfect for my everyday carry needs.

Thanks for the responses.

I went to the store today looking to get one. They didn't have one, and I walked out with a CZ P-07 updated version instead. The CZ was on my list also. But I'm still going to keep a look out for the FSN9c as it appears to be a solid gun from the way you guys are describing it. It could very well be the next one on my list. Which, by the way, the list seems never ending.

For what it's worth, I have the P07 also, and love it as well. It's another great choice.
