Not to be a smart a$$ or anything, but why do you think they are so popular? I don't think anyone does right now.

Looks like a basic no-frills BCM carbine will run you close to $950-$975 after shipping and a transfer fee. I have seen Colt 6920s going for anywhere between $1100 and $1200. I would consider that in the same price range. Re-sale value will be better with the Colt, if that matters to you.

AR Performance has this for $889. I think you have to call to order since their web site is a little weird, but I have never had a problem talking to anyone there.

--14.5" medium weight Reece barrel, Nitro-carburized for long life and corrosion resistance(fluting optional) pinned flash or brake to make it legal.
--1 in 8 " twist rifling to stabilize up to 80gr bullets

--1/2-28 threaded muzzle
--Mid-Length length gas system
--M16 carrier with properly staked carrier key
--9310 alloy super bolt
--M4 upper receiver,
--Extended Feed Ramps to aid feeding
--Mil-Spec receiver extension, staked
--Mil spec charging handle
--Forged 7075 alloy lower receiver with "gator grip" machined by Mega
--High quality lower parts kit

EH, not really. There's a reason that Spike's and BCM have gained so much popularity in the past 18 months.

BCM and Spikes are great choices and certainly a cut above most ARs you see in gun shops. Sometimes the high rated Daniel Defense has sales too.

And you can build a darn good rifle by choosing milspec parts from the best players.
