I'm getting interested in Winchester Pre-64 Model 70s. (The originals, not the current "pre-64s".)

Can those with these rifles post some pictures?

Thanks!
Steve

Here's what I'd buy if I had $1,200...

You can usually find quite a few on gunbroker.com

Here's another one, a original factory heavy barrel in 243 with a nice but non-original stock that went for $610. I can't believe I missed it.

cratz2,

Why is that one $1200? Is it a hagher grade or something?

Steve

1948 Super Grade in 257 Roberts. He says the caliber is 'harder to find.'

The wood wasn't always as highly figured on the older ones as on the current High Grades and Super Grades, but still nice.

This is Fionn MacCumhail (Finn MacCool). Made in 1939, and used on at least two African safaris that I know of in the late '40s and early '50s. It originally mounted a Lyman Alaskan scope (which I got with the gun) and has a Redfield peep sight mounted under the scope as a backup.
