Any problems with accidental exposure of your concealed weapon?

What's the worst attempt at concealing any of you have ever seen? For instance, a skinny wigger attempting to conceal a Desert Eagle .50AE or something?

there was a guy arrested yesterday at the grocery store here because his pistol got seen by a store clerk. I never have had mine seen that I know of, but it probably has. in Texas it has to stay concealed. the guy at the store may not have had anything charged to him, but he did have the police carry him in

Some will say if it gets exposed, then it isn't really "concealed". I'll be the first to admit, I could care less whether my pistol remains unseen, or breathes fresh air. I've had people tell me "Your pistol is showing."

So? It's not like I'm parading around in my underwear. I merely wear what is comfortable. Jeans and a T-shirt. I'm not fond of IWB. The only thing that belongs inside my pants is me or possibly a pretty girl. The only way I carry my 1911 is OWB at 5:30.

I'm not going to alter the way I live. If I have to reach up to the top shelf to get that last box of Cheerios, I will. If you see my pistol while I do so, good for you. If I have to bend over to spray under my truck at the car wash, I will. If people see my pistol, good for them.

I do my best to keep from unneccessarily "outing" it. After all, it's supposed to be concealed. Under my T-shirt = concealed. However, I'm not going out of my way like some holy-rollers of CCW I've argued with seem to think is dogma. There are some who will carp and whine about "giving us CCW'ers a bad name". If you don't wrap your pistol in a blanket, shove it down your trousers in a super-tuck, wear three pairs of pants, and two sweaters and an overcoat so you can be considered to be a true CCW'er, they cry, "PARIAH!"!

Nah. For me, it's just a gun. I'll "conceal" it, but I'm not gonna hide it like it's a herpes outbreak.

Nothing wrong with that. Well, as long as you live in a state that is "gun friendly". Someone sees your gun here in MA, for example, and you're getting a visit from the police. You could easily be arrested and/or lose your permit completely. "May issue" means they can take away your permit for any reason they feel like. An arrest (no matter how bogus) is a good reason for them to declare you "unfit". Also, since in MA your permit to carry concealed is the same as your permit to even own a firearm, ammo (or pepper spray!), you will be losing all your guns at the same time.

Keep that in mind when someone is super anal about concealed carry. Not all of us have the luxury of being so careless. One mistake and your "privilege" of self-defense/target shooting/hunting can easily be gone. Forever.

Luckily that is not the case in most of the country. But for some of us, it is.

Dope,

Someone could offer me a job paying 5 times my current annual salary, and I still wouldn't move to a state that had laws like those you mentioned. Those states can scarcely call themselves American if you ask me. That's absurd.

Why don't those of you who enjoy freedom get the hell out of states like that?? Quit giving them your tax dollars!

My wife and I were walking through Wal-Mart soon after I had gotten my permit. She reaches over and pulls my shirt up, revealing my IWB 1911, to grab my wallet. I didn't realize what she was doing and started pulling my shirt down and swatting at her hand.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm getting your wallet."
"Well quit pulling my shirt up."
"Why? You have a permit."
"I have a concealed carry permit not a broadcast to everyone in Walmart that I have a gun permit."

No other issues since then.

I guess it's easy to say "move" but a lot harder to actually do it. I was born here, have a great career here, all of my good friends are here, and my entire family is here. *shrug*

If I can ever get a job closer to the NH border (or actually IN NH), then I will be moving there. Until then, I will just have to be careful.

Dope, you and others have my sympathy for living in MA. I'd be damned if I EVER moved to the state that gave us Ted Kennedy and Barney Franks.

I appreciate the responses.
I find the relative lack of trouble encouraging for concealed carriers.
