I will chime in with rcmodel and say from first hand experience that it doesn't hurt with subsonic ammo. As he said, letting the bolt pick up a little momentum might not be pleasant, but as long as you're holding it closed from the start, no problem.Sorry to bu:tt in but would holding the bolt closed with your thumb hurt? The main reason is I'd prefer not having dirty 22lr ammo dust being blown back into the receiver
22 cb longs will cycle reliably the action as bolt action. Not enough
Power to open the action and ruger mag cycles cab well. Been using to dispatch varmints in backyard for years.
But in this case there's other potential increases in accuracy to be had by going with any number of bolt action repeaters or single shot rifles.
