I've been looking around the apartment all night for the Remington Model 12 .22 that my grandfather gave me a couple of years ago and I can't find it anywhere. I'm sure I'll find it eventually, but I've looked everywhere! Ever happened to anybody else? What did you loose and did you ever find it?

Shot my first rabbit @ 5 yrs old with my Grandpa's model 12 octagon. Still have it 48 years later. Sure hope you find yours... they're fantastic old pieces.

I didn't lose it, but I misplaced my .380 Colt Government a year ago and went frantic trying to find it. Looked for a full day on and off without luck. Normally everything is in its place in the safe.

Finally had a brain storm upon awakening the next morning -- I'd been in Missouri two days before (have a CCW that works there) and it was in my F-150's console. Yes, I can spell R E L I E F.

Good luck on finding your Model 12. Sleep on it.. maybe that'll help. :)

I stashed a .40 IMI jericho ( baby eagle) over a year ago before heading out to work with a freind for a spell, and ain't been able to find it since !!!! I've looked everywhere it might be, and everywhere i'm sure it isn't !!!
We've been talking about taking metal detectors to the walls and ceilings !!!

No, but a friend of mine did. He accidentally left a nice Garand on the range overnight at an Appleseed last year. He thought I had picked it up and put it in the truck after the day and I didn't know that he still had it on the range--it had some functional problems (was going full-auto) and he was shooting something else instead. It was gone in the morning. Of course, nobody knew/saw anything. :fire:

He filed a police report and he said he collected about 1/2 the value from NRA Armscare. I guess that's better than nothing. He said that the police investigated a little, but never found anything.

"spin180 I misplaced my KelTec P3AT in the freezer for a couple of hours once. "

Buddy comes over "i'm going to get something to eat" Checks freezer "You testing your guns for artic warfare or something?"

Had a Browning Hi Power disappear after Christmas a couple years ago.

I was in the process of packing to leave town for a few days and was taking it with me. I thought I'd packed it but it wasn't in my bags when I got to my destination. Thought I'd left it at home, but wasn't there either when I got back.

One of 2 things occurred: Either my wife inadvertently tossed it (was wrapped in rags in an old shoe box and she had been doing cleaning while I was gone) or else one of her dirtbag nephews ganked it. One's in jail for Child Molestation, the other's in foster care and neither are now welcome in my house.

My PM9 had a habit of going missing every so often. I nearly always found it behind the back seat of my truck where I'd stashed it some time when I arrived somewhere and found out I couldn't be carrying.

I also couldn't find my SKS for the longest time once (which is sad, as I live in an apartment). It turned out that I'd left it in the corner of the closet but somehow it had fallen over and was in the middle of some old clothes I'd been getting ready to give to Goodwill.

Honestly, for a rifle I'd say to check behind the fridge, on top of tall furniture or a shelf in your closet, behind the headboard of your bed, behind the seats of your car/truck, etc. Those seem to be the most likely places with me.

I had a buddy bring a 357 over, he'd just picked it up. I offered to clean it up for him, he left it. The next morning, I couldn't find it. Anywhere. I looked everywhere, my hair was falling out. It was a new kind of scared. He called me later to let me know that he had decided to take it with him, just hadn't notified me.

Waiting on hair to grow back.

My buddy posts here, and he hates when I bring this up, but I haven't seen him around here in a while, so here goes!

I had him pick up a Browning Buckmark Hunter model (the first gun I ever bought myself) from my house while I was at work so we could go straight down to his farm for turkey hunting and plinking if we got bored. He grabbed that, a brick of .22, some boots, and a pair of jeans.

He put everything in his car except the Browning, which got the "cup of coffee" treatment and was forgotten on the roof.

He scrambled back to my neighborhood when he realized his error, but couldn't find it anywhere. Meanwhile, I'm waiting for him at his house... :)

Anyway, there was no ammo in the case, so that was a bit of a relief. The two local police stations denied any returned handguns each time I called both of them and said "Well, thats all we can really do, is check the computer here..."

I hassled her enough that she dispatched an officer to my house who scribbled some stuff down, and that was apparently the "more" than I could do.

not me but a friend left a pistol and new camera on the fender of a trailer.

had to back track some 20 miles (only due to stopping to fuel up when leaving town.) found the gun...but the camera was in a lot of parts.:what:

wife will not let him play with the new camera.
.

My wife decided to put her Ruger Security Six someplace less accessible to young 'uns when grandkids started to visit.

Wherever it is, it's damn sure less accessible.....

What? How do you lose a firearm? Ridiculous. A three foot object as important as a firearm gets lost in an apartment. Have I heard it all now? I must be getting closer.

The last time I thought I had lost a firearm (my favorite FM/FN Hi-Power), I found it right where I had left it, in the range bag (on the wrong side from where I normally store it). It sucks to get old. Memory is the second thing to go, can't remember what is first...

Never lost or misplaced any firearms. It helps that I store them in vaults, and that I "inventory" my collection every day when I return from work. Develop a system and a process. Adhere to it.

misplaced my snubbie once... looked everywhere and there it was behind the computer monitor. yea I know I was on THR. how it got behind the monitor, beats me
