My buddy posts here, and he hates when I bring this up, but I haven't seen him around here in a while, so here goes!
I had him pick up a Browning Buckmark Hunter model (the first gun I ever bought myself) from my house while I was at work so we could go straight down to his farm for turkey hunting and plinking if we got bored. He grabbed that, a brick of .22, some boots, and a pair of jeans.
He put everything in his car except the Browning, which got the "cup of coffee" treatment and was forgotten on the roof.
He scrambled back to my neighborhood when he realized his error, but couldn't find it anywhere. Meanwhile, I'm waiting for him at his house...
Anyway, there was no ammo in the case, so that was a bit of a relief. The two local police stations denied any returned handguns each time I called both of them and said "Well, thats all we can really do, is check the computer here..."
I hassled her enough that she dispatched an officer to my house who scribbled some stuff down, and that was apparently the "more" than I could do.
