Since about the end of November, I have probably signed up for over 100 email notifications for when out of stock items come back into stock. I haven't received a single email saying an item is back in stock. I guess I am wasting my time checking my email every few hours hoping I get access to some pre-covid prices.
I've heard of some people saying you have to order quick when you receive these emails, which is obvious, but I never receive any notice so I have never missed any deals.
Maybe I'm signing up in the wrong sites, which are the most popular sites, such as Midway, etc.
Are they receiving so many email requests that they only send to some or just don't send?
Or, are they just not receiving these products? I do see Midway will receive some ammo, but usually it is oddball ammo.

I have gotten emails for notifications I've requested, but they're mostly for hardware, like rifle parts, and stock doesn't get blown out in minutes. I don't have any notifications for ammo, but I have also received quite a few from Midway for bullets. They do work. Maybe check your junk mail folder?

I have gotten very few notifications that any ammo was back in stock, which makes me question whether ammo makers are really making as much as they say.

Nope. Have had an order placed with sportsman's guide since May 2020. About every quarter I get an email saying they are pushing the estimated shipping time back. At the time I ordered it, it was $105 per 500 rd case of 9mm. I'm afraid by the time they charge my card it will be astronomical. It shouldn't really matter, if it is too much or more than I'm willing to pay when it finally does arrive, I will just sell it and maybe make a few bucks on it. It all depends I guess.

Correction - I have gotten a notice for a Lee die set from Midway, but none for ammo. I have a backorder for a Hornady die that was supposed to have been in stock end of Jan, then I got the notice that the Lee was in stock, so I ignored it thinking the Hornady would ship soon. But, then they pushed the Hornady one out to March. Usually, Midway is pretty good with their estimates and notices.
I'm just really surprised that dealers aren't getting a regular ammo shipment or they just aren't notifying anyone. Not trying to start another where's the ammo thread, I'm just wondering if I'm the only one signing up for all these notifications and not getting any notices.
FYI, I do have a backorder with Optics planet, estimated end of May - we'll see...

Interesting, I had the same experience. I have placed my name on numerous sites to be notified when items became available. NEVER received a notice from any of them .............EXCEPT primary arms.

I do... Fenix Ammunition. I signed up quite some time ago, and since have accumulated enough to get me through (I think?). Usually goes fast, but they have had 9mm a couple times the past few months.

I have had a my email notifications work fine. Even for ammo. I just received one yesterday from a vendor pertaining to some 450 Bushmaster I was interested in a time back. Not anymore though and the price was high and it sold out before the day ended. I have also had luck with 20 ga target loads and 35 Remington in the recent past.

I think the key is that I am not signing up for email notifications for 9mm, 223, 45, 22, etc. I have plenty of that ilk and always have.

None received. The OP didn't describe which preferred chambering(s) in his first post.

But no notice is needed right now, :) if you shoot imported 7.62x39. Tons of it is available.

And the lowest price/case dropped from a (2020 Peak) of $620 in November, to $500 just weeks ago.

I keep getting cancellations on back orders. I did get one for 9X18MM three boxes for $90.00 including shipping. I bought it, (sigh)

You're not getting notices? I get notices at least once or twice a week. I've signed up for notices at MidwayUSA, SGAmmo, and TargetSportUSA. I've actually purchased more hunting ammo in the last three months than I have in the last couple of years. In the last three months, I've gotten 9 boxes of Remington .35 Remington, 6 boxes of Remington .270 WCF, 12 boxes of Remington and Federal .30-06, 8 boxes of Federal and PMC .308, 3 boxes of PPU .30-30, and 2 cases (400 rounds) of Winchester .358 Winchester, all to supplement what I already had on hand.

The trick is to create accounts at these places and save your credit cards to your account. Also, every week go through and re-select the notify-me buttons for the ammo you want. There may be a time limit that your name will stay on the list. Be prepared to respond to notices as soon as you get them. If you don't, it's likely it will all be gone within 10 minutes. I've missed out on quite a few notices from MidwayUSA. I missed out on .45-70 and .30-30. I've gotten to a point with .270 and .30-06 that I've been ignoring notices I get on those. Remington, Federal, Hornady are the most notices I get, followed by PPU and Sellier & Bellot. Those companies must be cranking out the ammo.

I have gotten a few notifications for ammo back in stock but it has been a while. It was for 22lr and 22WMR though.

In the past, say 2-3 years ago, I received some notice, but not many. These days it ain't gonna happen for ammo.

Those notifications are happening. I only started putting myself on the notifications lists at Midway a couple of months ago. In that amount of time, I've gotten the below notices from them (copied and pasted from my Midway account).

I got a couple of "Discontinued Product" notices, but the vast majority of them are "In Stock" notices. If you act fast enough, you can get ammo. Again, I've purchased more ammo in the last 3 months than I have in several years. You just need to create an account, save your credit card by buying something inexpensive, and putting yourself on the "Notify Me" lists. In fact, put yourself on the "Notify Me" lists once a week. I can't be sure, but I think that may be the issue. I think you may fall off the list after awhile if the ammo doesn't show up. Keep yourself on the lists. In addition to the 20 below, I got 16 more that I couldn't post due to forum image number restrictions.

I got some from Target Sports but I don't need ammo that bad at the latest prices so I passed...

Got ine from underwood after I had already purchased a few boxs last week. I always check around during my breaks and lunch. Scored 120 rounds of defenders from them. Would have bought more but then would have paid for them twice. Once from underwood then again from my wife. Soo 120 will suffice. Good luck to those hunting!

I have received in-stock back order notifications from several ammo providers however, pricing is (presently) prohibitive so I pass. I am on several back order lists for a COVID inoculation - zero notifications thus far, price is not an issue.

Thanks to you guys I found ammo seek a much better option than waiting for emails from these companies I pretty much found what I wanted so of course I paid too much but that's the way it's going to be for awhile.:uhoh:

I get back order notificatons from TargetSportsUSA. It apparently part of the Prime Membership I have with them.
