Yeah, I definitely still want one. That would be particularly amusing at a cowboy match. The next time I get accused of being a gamer for shooting .38s with smokeless by some feller that thinks the BP .45 Colt was god's gift to man, haul out one of those.
1) Revolvers in .45ACP (more info on those always welcome!) -- any company that has the good sense to make some of those makes me smile
2) If memory serves, Watson carries a Webley revolver, though I can't be sure offhand if that was a detail added in one of the many radio show series or --I'm *fairly* certain -- straight from Sir Arthur.
3) (No one ever praised my math skills!) They look interestingly function-first, too -- Victorian frou-frou has never appealed to me, but if my time-machine was set to 1895, I would not mind carrying around one of the practical-looking Webley revolvers, though it would have to be a .455
I picked up a .455 Mk VI last year, and just found a place that had Lee .455 dies and Hornady brass. Used a 230-grain bullet without sizing and lubed with Liquid Alox. Gives very good accuracy. Now I want to make some of the 'Webley Patented Manstopper Bullets' for it
Just wondering if Unspellable has any more of that Dominion .455 brass. I have a Colt New Service in .455 and would love a chance to get some of the correct brass. As it stands I only have 49 empties and 50 loaded rounds that came with the gun.
I do not have any at present. I recently saw a box of the Dominion 455 Colt ammo at a gun show. I believe Fiocchi still loads the 455 Webley. You can also trim 45 Colt brass to length. Even better would be to trim 45 S&W (45 Schofield) brass to length as it may have a wider rim than 45 Colt.
Starline ran a batch of wide rimmed 45 Colt, I wish they would do it again. It's better stuff for any DA revolver.
Be aware that the Dominion 455 Colt brass has a balloon head. Modern 45 Colt has a solid head. Don't know what Fiocchi has. The point being that this will affect your load data.
