I found a really good price on a rifle at Bud's Police Supply.com. I would like to mail a money order to them and have the gun shipped to a local shop. I would end up paying around $100 more for the rifle locally.
I'm a little nervous about sending a money order of this amount of money (over $400) to a company I've never dealt with. Is this a reputable company to deal with or should I just pay the extra $100 to buy locally?

first you have to submit that you are a 'qualified' customer
then you can open an account, seems to be an extension of Buds Gun Supply, try a search they are well know.

I am not a LEO or anything like that. I saw a list of qualifications on the site such as firefighters and judges. Can regular civilians buy from this company?

Buds gun is a fair dealer. It is a regular on-lne retailer. The section of the site is a special are for those meeting the gualifications to get that account. If you do you get a better price on select stuff. It is wsorth setting up the account if you are in a catergory.

If you don't "qualify" to buy from Bud's Police Supply you can always order from their other site - www.budsgunshop.com - the prices are usually some of the lowest around, though a little higher than their police supply site.

They are a reputable company that you can trust. I've bought numerous guns from both sites including my duty pistol and patrol rifle.

Thanks for the replies fellas. Buds gun shop does not have the rifle I that I saw at buds police supply. Law enforcement people really can get a great deal there. I'll just buy locally this time.

I've bought several guns from them......nothing but rave reviews from me.

Bud's Police Supply and Bud'sGunShop.com are based here in Lexington, KY where I live....my office is less than 1 mile from their big new retail store (HUGE), gun warehouse, and shooting range...that means I can take "lunch break" and go shoot.

I've bought several guns from them...always very professional...just picked up a S&W M&P .40 Pro Series from them this past week!

Unmatched inventory and selection (at least around here), and good prices. Thumbs up from me.

I suggest you call them and ask if they can find the same weapon you are looking for. They have always been very responsive to me if you can talk to someone. They are busy.

Bought an S & W j-frame from them a few months ago....90 bucks less than around here, no tax and free shipping to my FFL. Very happy. More money I can spend on ammo.

Tried to log on to Budspolicesupplies a few times, keep getting Budsgunshop. I wonder if they've closed the other site.

I found that if you see one in the police supply area check the prices in the retail shop first.
For example type in 84207 in the search under both. The gun is more expensive under the police supply area. I did end up buying from them, but under the retail store area and was more then impressed with the quality and service. I would buy from them again. Just make sure you not only check both areas, but don't expect the gun to ship right away. It will take up to a week in some cases.

I just ordered a new S&W 438 from them for $320 shipped. Don't really need it but couldn't say no at that price!

I was glad to recently find out that civilians that work for police agencies are also eligible for their pricing. I ordered an M&P for $399 on Monday and walked in and picked it up on Thursday. Can't beat that!

I finally found the gun I was looking for at budsgunshop.com. I just had to keep checking every day. So far I am impressed with the service even though the gun has not shipped out yet. The gun was priced at $70 more than the police supply store. It is still a good price compared to other places.

I would only buy new from them, I had a problem with a glock they sent me and it never got resolved.
