Anyone own only one centerfire rifle?

Plan on getting a rem 700 series a year or three from now. Not in any rush for a black rifle at all. Probably get a .357 or .44 mag lever gun at some point, and that'll be it for the center-fire.

Years ago when I did have only one rifle it was a Remington 760 in 30-06 caliber. With that, and some careful reloading, I could hit most anything I wanted.

Was it perfect? Nope, not at all. But that rifle has killed everything from squirrels with cast bullets to moose with jacketed ones, so I guess it was adaquate.

For a long time, my only centerfire rifle was a Marlin levergun...had several different calibres over the years, but it was always a Marlin.

Now have Marlin Model 30AW in .30-30, US Rifle Cal .30 M1, Yugo 59/66 SKS, Mosin-Nagant M-44 and Mossberg ATR-100 .30-06

I think your idea sux and you really need therapy.

I have ONE rifle I use every season, a .308 Remington M7, but I'll never sell my other rifles, never, not on a bet, not in your lifetime.

Yeah, I was going to say that a .308 boltie with a 20" barrel will do a lot of things well, and even more things well enough.

I figure if I got one, I could get rid of at least a few rifles. So I never have bought one.

I could get by on Rocky Road, and we gave up cable TV a few years ago when we were paying off some debts and buying a place, and ended up liking it so much we have never wanted to get it again.

However, I have several rifles, and for a hunt I'm going on, I still had to borrow another.

I have only one centerfire rifle (and one shotgun, one rimfire, and many handguns).
My rifle is a Tikka T3 Lite in 308 Win with Leupold 3-9x40mm scope.

It's the perfect deer gun. Nice and lightweight. The 308 Win can take down game farther than I can shoot. It'll work on big game or varmints.
It's a great paper puncher too, shooting better than many heavy barreled guns, especially with handloads (it just won't hold the accuracy for as many shots).

I think the only reason I don't have more is because I've taken a liking to shooting pistols more.
The T3 is boring. You aim, pull the trigger, and it shoots what you aimed at. There's no fast and exciting shooting like with handguns.
