Another stupid '1 Rifle' thread

M-1 Garand. WWII pedigree and shoots about as well as I'm capable of. It looks great, functions great and takes 30-06. How can you go wrong?

At the range the other day, I hit 6/8 on a steel gong at 300m with my final clip. Some young kids (late teens, early 20's) were amazed that I could hit reliably at that distance with open sights (the previous week they'd been blasting away at 50 yards with an AK, and were barely staying on the paper). They were looking at the rifle like it had some sort of magical powers. Who knows? Maybe it does.

If I had to choose just one for what it is and how I like it:
My Browning BAR MkII Safari in 7mm Rem.Mag.
I like the gun. I like the cartridge.
