for some reason, not sure why, it seems the burris and bushnell optics stuff, seem to work okay.

AS for NC STAR ANYTHING!!!! You could make a better baked S@#$t pie
that would work better as an optic...

Defense Min; what did you pay for those, and what do you have them on, and what kind of firing have you been doing with those rigs?

my primary use will be on saigas; field use, heavy trail/vegetation, sloppin around
pig-getters...

I've got a Tasco Pro-point 1X42mm red/ green dot with 5 brightness settings on each color. I had it mounted on a Remington 870 and sighted in for 75 yards, but now I have it on an AR-15. It held up well even under the heavy recoil of 12ga. slugs. The only downside was if I take it off of a gun and put it back on, I have to re-zero it. I got mine for like $43.

I have a Strikefire on my AR which works great. Also have a Bushnell Red Dot on my S&W 22A pistol. Works great too. Both were around 130$

Rangerruck,

the one that has seen the heaviest use is mounted on the receiver of my Mossberg 500. I have fired quite a few full power buckshot and slug loads with the optic mounted, and it has held up great so far. It is my opinion that Burris is the best value available in weapon mounted optics.

I paid $199 for the optic itself, and another $65 for the upgraded picatinny protector mount, -5%. It can be had for $209 with the basic picatinny mount included, but there is little protection for the optic without upgrading to the picatinny protector mount.
