@ Varminterror

Didn’t say they were.

I’ve never seen midway sell a loadmap, so when you mentioned having a book on the shelf, I assumed you were mistakenly referring to the Loadbooks USA compilation book. Frankly, Larry would be the last resource I would EVER use for load data, such I wouldn’t have bought their loadmaps, but if you believe in them, good on ya.

Correct, you didn't say they were, but you did say that you mistakenly assumed that I was wrong then berated me by mistakenly pointing out errors I didn't make. A simple apology would have been courteous and appropriate. If I had done that to you, a courteous apology would have been my reply.

As to Larry Potter: I don't think for one minute that Larry Potter would be hunkered down in the lab while laboriously developing load data - Larry Potter is a businessman.

What I do think is that LoadMAPS data are edgy or as Walkalong stated about them, "Their Load Maps had some pretty sporty data. Be careful". As such, I will proceed with great care which has always been my modus operandi when working with explosives as I do as a reloader and as I did as a Marine.

What I also know is that I hold no grudges against Larry Potter given my dealings with MidwayUSA for over 20 years. Not many good deals are coming out of Midway these days, but I scored many, many terrific deals in the late 90s when some prices were phenomenal and there were no shipping charges. If I don't like his prices, I just don't buy from his company and that's how I show my displeasure, not by disparaging him - I've got better things to do.

@ Varminterror - All the things that I called you on and you hung your hat on "berated"? OK.

"Ignore list" -- I'll go you one better; I'll ignore you. The only upside to your erroneous input is that you got to put 3 more notches in your message count.

This is not taking the High Road at all. IMO and only my opinion all I saw was a discussion, not berating. It might serve everyone well to back off on the testosterone a bit for the good of the forum.

All I saw was opinions also. Isn't that what the OP wanted?

Your thoughts or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks..... Doc

So many times on these forums I see folks asking opinions about something and when others don't reply in a ecstatic confirmation, they get upset and defensive. Don't want someone else's opinion, don't come and ask for it. I reload for 4, .45 calibers. .45ACP, .45 Colt, .454 and .460. I have educated opinions and experience when it comes to reloading .45 caliber. I use a variety of projectiles for them. What works best for one can be the worst for another. Period. Kinda why there are more than one projectile made for them. If and when folks ask about reloading for them, I ain't gonna be shy. Ain't got nuttin' to do with testosterone. Comes from common sense.
