I just came from a gun show, I was really looking for a Draco AK. I have a first generation Hi-Point 9mm carbine, a decent plinker but one fugly rifle. I came across a New Hi-Point 45ACP carbine w/the new tactical stock for $289. I had the itch for a new toy but I passed. Any comments on this new Hi-Point carbine. You can't beat their warranty but for a practical purpose, another $100 would buy me one bad whammer jammer in the Draco AK pistol and it's not made of plastic, maybe I answered my own question. Thanks.

The new stock Hi-Point 9mm carbine is in the same price range, so for a much higher power bullet, really not too bad of deal but with a tight economy, I sure think twice before spending when it wasn't wasn't on my high priority of want list. Either a Draco AK or new high capacity semiauto pistol is my next purchase in a 9mm or higher power round capacity. I have a big stash of 9mm, 7.62x39, .22LR, various shots in 12 gauge rounds.

I'm kind of stuck between what's practical vs wanting. My 9mm Tokerev is a decent pistol but w/ a low mag capacity. I have the 1st generation Hi Point carbine and is one reason for my large stash of 9mm ammo. The Tokerev as a CCW pistol is a little long for consealment but with hollow point rounds would be much better than nothing. I'm starting my research on high capacity 9mm pistols in my budget range but also looking at 45ACP pistols.
The same kind of goes for the Hi-Point 45ACP just don't really need it (I'd trade the 9mm in on the right pistol), the first generations were priced at $229 at the gun show I was at). So I have the Hi-Point 9mm carbine, I'd part with and a never fired .32 Bryco I'd consider trading.
As far as a Draco, I don't think the laws would consider this a pistol under the CCW regulations or would they(it would fit under my front seat with a 20 round mag)? I sure would like to see the look on the persons face if I had to pull it out for SD. It also would fit in the storage pocket behind the passenger seat, just would need to cover it with a towel or a road atlas to hide it. If you take a weapon out for SD, you damn well better be ready to use it!
