I've heard rumors that Hi Point was planning to put out a .45ACP version of their carbine. I just received this email.

Bryan,
Hopefully the HI-POINT 45ACP carbine will be available sometime around
March 2004. Thank your for your interest in HI-POINT firearms.

Thanks Again,

I'll believe it when I see it but I wouldn't mind having one.

It would probably make the most sense unless they wanted to go with 10 round magazines. Personally I'd rather see them take SIG P220 mags, but that's just because I own a P220 instead of a 1911.

Boy, there's an odd statement. "I bought this Hi Point as a companion to my SIG."

funny old rumor is they would have one in 40S&W come out but that has yet to happen.

sure if it comes out it will use the same crappy mags the pistols use. though the 40 and 45 mags look bit better they still look crappy.

I've heard from people who claim to already have one. They have no reason to lie. You might check with a dealer if you don't believe it, or try sending the folks at Hi-Point an email.

I think a forthcoming .40 was listed in G&A's "new stuff" reivew in the latest issue. Could be around already, I s'pose.

Hey tropical!!

Hey, I remember you from TFL.

You and I were the some of the few Hi-Point defenders that actually had experience with the weapons!

I dislike the looks of the hi-point carbine. It looks soo wrong, even though it functions fine. The pistols look like odd black bricks, that I dont mind. However, the carbine looks like an odd black retarded, broken brick beat with a led pipe, this I do mind. :D

However, its a good brand.

I have often wondered how they will fair 10 years down the road. They may oversaturate the market with their products, and may become bogged down by repairs in the future assuming they have X number of guns that break per 1000 guns.

What happens when they have 20,000 guns on the market?
X might be hard to keep up with considering they have a no questions asked lifetime warrenty.

Maybe by then they will have displaced Microsoft as Americas largest company. One can only hope.

This is funny. :D

Yup I'm still waiting too.

I'm not worried though because Hi-Point says it's right around the corner. :D :D
