apparently this is a former SEAL team weapon.

It doesn't say it was US Gov property only that it was owned by a Seal team member while he was still active duty. Most US military pistols are 9mm with a few 45s still around. I don't know why they would issue a seal team a 40 cal pistol. It would only complicate resupply in the field. Besides that pistol is in very good condition so it was more than likely his privately owned pistol.

i thinking that if it is true than its probably a private gun, SEALs can carry whatever they want at least thats what i have heard.

Should it matter if it was owned and used by a former SEAL? I'm honestly asking because I know a few SEALs, Rangers, and Special Forces guys. These guys own more than a few guns, and buy and sell new ones all the time. I doubt anyone ever paid them more for a used firearm because of their profession.

If you've not figured it out by now, GunJoker is a fiction writer's paradise.

.22 snuffers?

navy seal team members use .22lr weapons. once outside enlisted men the sidearms of the us armed forces varies greatly. one has to remember that the normal supply chain does not supply special forces. so the "common" 9mm nato dont apply:)

At least the prices arent totally out of line on these items. The Beretta is a little steep yes but the sig seems like it is fairly priced.

As a side not the Beretta does come with the readily available to civilians surplus magazines.

I'm guessing the guy thinks the "owned by a SEAL" thing will help his final price -- which is funny, because, personally, I would at best not hold that against it, at worst expect a decent discount on price. Odds are pretty good the owner probably trained harder and put more wear and tear on his pistol than most other shooters out there.

Also not wowed by the fact that half his alleged users don't issue the Sig . . .

No.

There are some military issue .40 cal pistols out there (in addition to the USCG), but last I heard the SEALs weren't one of them. Things may have changed since I got out in late '08.

Oh man I HAVE GOT TO GET THIS!! It will complement my 1903 Springfield carried by Sargent York and my M1 Garand carried by Autie Murphy. I also have a bridge in Northern Michigan I am selling...CHEAP.

If the marketing hype is true I'd expect a bigger discount for guns that, if used in action, were probably rode hard and put up wet regularly and put through more operational environment beat-downs than any civilian weapon would have ever seen.

My B.S. alarm is going off on this one. I doubt the Seals would release their weapons to the individuals they are issued to. They are government property. This guy is a 1st time poster with no feedback. Total B.S.

Want an inexpensive Sig that is brand new and used by the military and Police? Want it 9 or 40?
Get a Sig PS 2022. Can be found NIB for $400.

The ad says that Sig pistols are used by the FBI hostage rescue team. HRT has never had Sigs. They went from .40 hi-powers to 1911s.

I call BS on this. SEALS use Sigs in 9mm. This guy is a 'puff' artist which is a nice way of saying he is a liar.

I wouldn't want to own an ex SEAL pistol. It would be shot out or damn near and have had multiple saltwater baths.

I want my stuff to be in good shape.:D
