Putting a bullet where it needs to go is the key - adding horsepower doesn’t fix poor bullet placement. It really doesn’t take that much to kill deer or even elk, so hitting the target is the challenge, not killing the game when it gets there.
In the context of an LFAR, I know I have spent a lot more than just $700 on my long range LFAR’s, and I know I have bought and built bolt rifles which will shoot smaller for 1/2-1/3 the cost of the LFAR’s. As versatile as the AR platform can be, it’s more expensive, heavier, and less precise than a stick shift. Can’t have it all.
