I wish I was smart enough to post pictures . The crossbolt bolts and the holes in the stock , the bolts are way toward the rear side (butt side) of the hole leaving about 1.4mm gap on the front side (muzzle side) of the hole and the back end of the tang is all the way against the wood inlet for it if that makes sense . This has caused very fine hair line cracks to start to form in those areas . The rifle is marked Model 98 . Just trying to figure out if this is a different Mauser model stock or is this something that happens sometimes with K98s ? I was helping a friend with this rifle cause someone left it to him but he made me a real cheap offer for it cause he is not into milsurps . The receiver has DOU stamp and dated 1943 meaning Slovakia I think I read . Any help would be great .
