All the threads I find on the Walther P22 are at least 5 years old. Most are closer to 15. Back then there were many problems with failures to feed being caused by either the hammer rubbing against the slice, the ramp needing polished or using poor ammo.

I just bought a P22. I started running the suggested HV ammo of CCI-Mini Mags and had a few failures to fire in the first 60 rounds. They seemed to straighten themselves out after that and the rest of the sleeve as well as CCI Velocitors worked fine.

I plan to run 500 rounds to break in the gun using either Minis or Blazers ( same velocity ) After that I plan on running Stingers, Velocitors or the Federal Punch ammo. All are more powerful the Mini Mags.

So far I like the gun. It groups well, has little recoil and feels well in my hand. It also fits in my pocket for times I don't want to carry my S&W EZ 9.

The early P22's also had issues with the slide getting peened from the slide stop lever due to the metal the slides were made from. I had one back in 2006 but didn't keep it since it was a California model and I couldn't swap barrels on it.
