Got a P22 this week and I am very pleased. First, I was very leary of this thing based on all the mixed reports on the net. Well, lemme just say this thing is a blast. 200 rounds from mini mags, stingers, aguila, velocitors. Not one problem, I was anticipating a frustrating trip to the range, but it was not to be. This is a cute little gun. It was accurate at 10-15 yards. Stiff DA trigger, nice SA. All in all, for the money it is a nice .22. This thing is a keeper. If you've been putting one off-don't. Good shootin.:)

Amazingly, I saw five of them at the gun show today. The price was still hoveing near $300 or above for both types. My first show, my wife was looking for a P22 and found one. Now, this time, I was looking for a Makarov and only found two, but did walk out with one.

well mine is up at MA getting a new mainspring............it could never handle the first 2 or 3 rounds out of the mag and i was shooting Mini mags and stingers...

I gave one to my 11 y/o son for Christmas. First few hundred rounds of stinger/velocitor/ yellow jacket were frustrating- one or more failures per mag (anything lighter and it functioned like a single shot). Happily it quickly smoothed out and now shoots great. Fun little gun.

How does the really small grip area work?

With medium hands my little finger was off stock--somewhat like a Glock 26/27 without an extension. Went back to by Ruger Gov't Model.

A couple of other shooters went with Browning and Beretta...

The gun feels small in my hands, but that's ok, 'cause it's intended user is 11. I do enjoy shooting it (perhaps in part due to the fun my son gets from it, his first handgun). As this is the 14th .22 in this household, we have others that are smaller, larger, more accurate, less accurate...but for making a can dance around on the snowbank, this gun holds its own with the best of 'em.:D

It is good to see that there is a 22 that fits an 11 year old's hand so well. Happy plinking.

The three of us who were looking at 22s last week had not thought in terms of younger shooters. I'll be my 9 year old rifleman will find it a good fit in a year or two.
