Are the Sig P6 trade-ins still available cheap?

I think either J&G Sales or Southern Ohio Gun had them in this week's Shotgun News. About $270 ( a steal ) for them.

Pay attention

Pay attention to how many mags you get with the gun. CDNN only gives you one. Aim was giving you two for $259. The mags are worth ~$40 each. So a gun that is $20 cheaper, but only comes with one mag, is not a good deal.

any other ideas?

J&G, Aim, and Southern Ohio guns are all out.

Does anyone know if more will be imported?

summitgunbroker.com says he thinks the supply is gone. The last couple of gunshows I went to in Houston, there were none to be seen. Maybe people have put them to good use. Nice guns but a tad large for my taste, considering that they're single stack nines.

Yep

I think part of it is that initially they were available wholesale to pretty much everyone. Lots of dealers snapped them up in order to resell. Now that the distributors are more or less out of them, you'll see them trickling into the supply train at higher prices. They already seem to sell for $325. Glad I got in at $250 with 2 mags.

Those deals tend to come, sell out, and not return. Some big European agency upgraded it's armament and their old stuff is sold on the international market. Basically the same thing as happened with various country's military armament and gave us all the assorted milsurp rifles from around the world.

The bigger the agency or army the more we get; eventually they all dry up.

There seems to be a lot of S&W ex US police agency pistols on the market now in both 9mm and .40 S&W. Those who missed the P6 might want to look at some of these because they're generally fine solid and reliable handguns sold for a fraction of their new cost. Many of them are hicap pieces with either 12 or 15 round magazines. Many are DA/SA with decockers too, which to me is a very sensible configuration in a carry pistol. I'm seeing them in the $250. - $350. price range practically everywhere that I look.

I'm in the market for a used pistol, also. I'm going to check the sites that were listed, but I don't know what Aim is. Anybody have the site? Thanks.

AIM doesn't have any P6s at the moment, their only used handguns are the Nagant revolvers, and I don't think that's what you're after.

However, it is where I bought my P6 for just over $300 out the door. Great quality and service, reasonable prices.

There are still thousands of P6's still in service in Germany. There will likely be more coming, but I suspect the prices won't be a good as they were.

I read on another forum that there will be another influx of P6's coming into the States early in 09. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 35k of them should be available. It was on arfcom and the poster was a German police officer so I hope his info is reliable.

No its not a "good" deal. Its a GREAT deal, even though it may not be the best deal, its still a steal. If I didn't already have a plethora of 9MM's including a P228, I'd get one.

Just bought a P6 with 2 mags from Guns and Knives in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida....ph #(954)735-8829 they had 2 left, both in origional box with extra mag and slide spring...pd $399 for it, but it is in great mechanical condition with some custom trigger work done to it. A great deal cause of the flawless Sig design and also because it is a piece of history. Pick that baby up on Friday...can't wait to get it to the range and put some holes in holes.
