Are you excited for the Glock 43?

I'm ecstatic.

I will read the over-paying new owners' complaints with delight.

Then, when prices and availability normalize, and the bugs are all fixed, I might actually buy one.

Until then, I'm rocking the G22.
Every day.

It's just NOT THAT BIG.
I tried ccw-ing my 17, and I'd have to disagree with you. Sitting was totally uncomfortable. Even the 19 digs into my ribs. Nope, 26 for me!

I'm looking forward to handling one. I love Glocks, but as mentioned, the bar has been set high. The G43 is really going to have to rock my socks to get me to buy it, because I already know I like the XDs and the Shield quite a bit and those two will likely be cheaper in price too.

No interest here.
Already have a couple of single stack 9's I'm happy with.
I'm just not into Glocks.
I'm sure they will sell a ton of them though....

It seems Glock (the company) will have mixed results with the late release of their single stack 9mm.

The Glock fans will buy it regardless of the high price, but the rest of us already have other cheaper single-stack 9mm to choose from.

I'm also seeing many people dumping the G42 (380acp) in the for sale ads.

No, not really. I generally try to curb my excitation when it comes to mass produced consumer products. I am excited about Skye bustin' loose as Quake on Agents of Shield however.

Best time to buy a 42

If I shot 9mm I'd go with a Ruger LC9s. I shot a G36 and an XDs before I bought my Kahr PM45. I shoot it pretty well whereas the others not so much. In particular Glock's point of aim is higher than I like. I can adjust and be pretty accurate with a G 30,36,17,22 but the Kahr gets on target quicker for me. My EDC.

I have a few Glocks. I don't regret buying any of them.

As for the new G43....... I really don't need to get another single stack 9mm. I have the Kahr CM9, a Beretta Nano, and my favorite EDC gun is the little Sig P938. Plus I also carry a small "J" frame on occasions.

To be honest though if the G43 had been out before I bought the Kahr or the Beretta I would have bought the Glock instead.

So no I'm not getting excited over or plan on buying the G43 anytime soon if ever. I'll have to find one at rock bottom prices before one will ever follow me home.

I'm afraid Glock got on the bandwagon a little late on this one.

I was excited about the G42. That is, until I bought one. It was a Jam-O-Matic, and would not run hollow points, hung up with two brands of ball ammo, and shot poorly. The trigger pull was awful (my friend has one with a nice trigger), and I couldn't get any grouping with it at all. The 5th ammo I tried, Magtec ball, actually cycled through the pistol and at 30' I could keep the shots inside the 6 ring.

I swapped it straight up for a Citadel (Rock Island built) 1911A1 in 9mm. Best trade I've made in a long time! I shot 3 mags (24 rounds) at 50', and only 1 shot outside the 8 ring. This was not slow, aimed fire.

So, another experiment with a new Glock isn't in my future. I'm happy with my 19 and 36, and that's quite enough Glocks.

Im actually surprised how many Kahr fans there are. I mean, I love Kahrs, and I test for them, but I didn't know there was so much love for the "little guy". Kinda makes me swell with pride carrying my CM9.

I'm still waiting for the PPS to get back in stock but that's still the next purchase. I'm surprised that Glock is making a single stack with only six shots. I just thought after waiting this long for the gun, why wouldn't they have made it with greater capacity to compete with the other guns on the market? Do they have that much faith in name alone?

I'd like a pps offered in an "m2" configuration with PPQ style ergos and trigger, and a traditional mag release.

Excited? No.

I am happy for those GlockFans that are, however.

For ~8 years I have been carrying a single-stack 9mm that is lighter, smaller, dependable, accurate and sports a 7rd mag rather than a 6 ... and for the price of a G43, I could buy 2 more of what I already have ... New York Reloads. ;)

I'm having a hard time deducing which gun you are referring to. Are you carrying a Kel Tec? Or the economy version of the Kahr?

The part about buying two more for the price of the Glock has me confused.

Glock is going to sell a lot of these guns to Cops as BUGS or off duty. I am very happy with my Shield however, even like the safety for pocket carry. LEOs know how well glocks run.

While I find the G43 interesting, I can't say that I'm all that excited about it. I'm not likely to buy one, but I wouldn't mind renting one at the range. I've already got a G19 and it's easy enough to carry that I see no need to go to a single-stack. I'm sure it's light and comfy, but it sacrifices a lot of capacity, which is one of the reasons I went with a G19, along with mag interchangeability with the other 9mm models. Not that I actually interchange magazines between 9mm models right now, but I might want to one day.

I've never been interested in a single stack 9mm; "new bullet technology for the 9" hasn't progressed THAT far for me. I'll stick with .40 or .45 when it comes to single stack. I do like full sized glocks though.

Never owned, fired, or even held a Glock. Just never had an interest in them. And there's so many models, all identified by numbers, that I'd need a catalog describing each model to even know what they were.

So, no. Less than excited here.

#2 on the waiting list at my LGS...didn't have to put any money down, just get to buy it if I like it enough when it comes in.

Price was $449
