Are you satisfied with the amount of ammo you have on hand?

Or are you like me and always wanting to have "More is better". I keep a substantial amount of ammo on hand and a HUGE stockpile of reloading components on hand. I'm a bit anal about getting ammo and components when I find a reasonable price on things. :)

Of course I'm not satisfied.....25K rounds of various calibers and counting. Placed an order for 400 7.62X54R just last night as a matter of fact. ;)

No way

Prices are going to continue to go up, IMO. Therefore, I'll buy everything I can now. If I ever don't need or want it, I suspect I'll be able to sell it at a nice profit. I only load my own and have enough for about 50,000 rounds of various calibers on hand. I shoot a good 25k per year, so that's not all that much.

The short answer, yep I have plenty.:D Although I'm going to a gun show next weekend, on the hunt for more 40 S&W bullets to load, gotta feed the addiction.:D

Ive got about 2K of lake city .223 and prolly about 500 more in other calibers, i definetly need more. Im thinking about buying some cases from the group buy on this forum, prices are alright and prolly the best for quality ammo.

I like to have a minimum of at least 1,000 rounds per centerfire caliber, and anywhere from 5 to 10 times that much with .22 rimfire. Can never have enough .223 or 7.62x39 ammo.

no, I have a lot of FMJ .40 (5,000 rounds or so), but only 1,750 Speer GD since I shot 250 rounds the other day.

I only have about 2,400 rounds of 5.56 FMJ though and another 1,200 of 5.56 Hornady TAP.

Also, I only have 1,500 rounds of Speer GD .38 special +P and that's it for .38.

I want a lot more.

I'm still under the 10,000 round mark for .22lr too. I want at least 10,000 rounds of CCI .22lr split between Stingers, Velocitors, and Mini-Mag HPs.

There is always some emergency in which I feel I would need more ammo OR an event (several) that would cause me to leave my main cache...

The best, would be if I could have several million rounds in one area, then own a ranch a few miles away under a totally different name, not connected with me at all, wherein I could have a cache. Several of those, Jack Bristow type storage facilities and ranches and I think I would feel like I had enough, but since it is entirely unlikely that I will ever actually be able to pull that off, I guess I am doomed to feel inadequate.

Wow!!! What a great thread!! OK I have 1K of .223, 250 of .45 and about 300 rounds of .40 S&W. I am clearly out of this league and will have to do something about that. Oh, and I shot up all my ammo for my 7mm last week and haven't had the time to replace it. . . You guys are awesome!!

No. A few more cases of .38spl, 9mm, 12ga, 20ga, .22lr, 7.62x39 would make me a little more fuzzy, but right now I lack the funds and storage space.

I'm generally satisfied with having about 1k rounds per caliber.
Except for .40 S&W and .22LR, the two calibers I shoot the most. I'd love to have an essentially unlimited supply of each (though I'd settle for about 5k of each <grin>).

Just started reloading so I'm finally (slowly) beefing up my stock of "Cowboy" .38 Special for CAS (Thanks for the Brass TinyGnat!)

I don't have what I would like to have for my centerfires.I have about 500 rounds that span 5 calibers and can load about 300 more.I have around 15,000 rounds for my rimfires and thats more than good for now.I have 2 shotguns and maybe 40 rounds for them, not enough!
With the price of oil and the fact that I live in a house built in the 1700's I will not be buying much for ammo or componants this year.Last year we kept the heat down and dressed warm and the oil bill was only just over $3000!I have no idea what it will cost this year but it will be more!We don't heat the second floor,we use electric blankets because its cheaper than heating up there with oil.
So no new ammo for me at all!

It depends on how many trips to the range you make a month. My range trips very from 200 to 500 rounds a visit. 1000 rounds do not last long at that pace. Some training classes will be 500 to 1500 rounds in one class. To me 5000 rounds is not a lot. Some will think it is some will not. You can never have enough ammo.. :)
