Are you satisfied with the amount of ammo you have on hand?

2000 rounds of 9mm, 100 rounds of .17hmr, 1000 rounds .22lr, 200 rounds .22 magnum, 59 rounds of .38 super, 300 rounds of .38 special, a few assorted other calibers, components for 5000 rounds of 9mm and around 10000 clean brass in 9mm, 38 super, 38 special & 357 magnum.

Realistically this is enough to keep me, my father & my BIL going for a few months, but ammo has doubled in price in the last two years so I seek out bulk bargains when I can get them.

Has anyone any experience with Privi Partizan ammo in 9mm or .38 super? Is the brass any good for reloading? I tried a box of their .38 specials yesterday, accuracy was not as good as Federal or Winchester through my gun and it was very smokey. I may be able to bulk buy some at dealer invoice cost, unfortunately I can't try before I buy in the two calibers I shoot the most, so I'd like some opinions re accuracy & re-loadability.

I apologize for the thread drift and I am doing a search, but so far most reviews are for rifle calibers.

Absolutley not. I buy it, and can't keep myself from shooting it.

I'm thinking about making an ammo piggy bank that I don't break open until the zombies come.

no not all, I happen to have about 50 rounds and the ammo I want is either to expensive for me to justify buying or is completly unavailable.

I'm gonna start reloading

In reality, yes, in my mind I will never have enough ammo. I reload so I'm able to constantly replace what I use of common calibers: 5.56, 7.5 Swiss, .30-06, 10mm, .40, .357, etc...

Wishing I had a few thousand more of Fed Bulk Pack .22lr, got a few thousand, but wish I had more...guess I'll have to break into my ultra cheap bricks of Rem Thunderbolt to ration out the copper washed fed bulk packs.

Just picked up another 440 rds of x54r light ball to bolster my stash for my PSL.

Well, no - and for a very tangible reason:

I currently have just enough range ammo to get through the matches and classes that I have scheduled (and paid for) this summer. That means no extra for practice with the current amount.

I buy it whenever I see it and hope to get back into the black before too long. :(

Not at all. My range work will be greatly reduced this year unless ammo supplies and availability perk up greatly and immediately. That's particularly true of .380, the caliber of my normal carry gun. You can't practice effectively if you've got nothing to shoot.

Put another way: You can never be too rich, nor too thin, nor have too much ammo.

not at all i have a about 180 rd of 12 gauge #8 shot for shooting clays with my 870 but can't find much of any handgun ammo other than premium jhps, and those are almost dry too:fire:

Today I fired about 250 rounds of 22 LR, 30 7.62x39, 8 rounds of 30 Rem, and 20 .308 Win. I only reload .308 from that list, so I am in a deficit condition from this morning when I didn't have enough.

I'm OK. I've got more ammo than I need for the amount of shooting I do. And brass.....my God I've got tons of brass cases all cleaned and polished, ready to load. I've got a respectable stash of components too, and more backordered. I just need to start putting them together. It's hell being lazy.

Are you satisfied with the amount of ammo you have on hand?

I'm never "satisfied"... heck I would have my own little factory if I could. However, what I do have will suffice. It's not a lot, but its enough to protect myself and my family.

Have most of what I need.....but not as much as I want. Close to 35K pieces of empty brass waiting for components and funds to catch up.

I also have about 57 rds of .40 carry ammo, 15 rd of .380, and 19 rds of .38 special +p... pretty much dry as far as handgun ammo goes

No.
Just today, I finally received an order of 500 rounds of .357 Magnum that I ordered back -- way back, on Feb 27th; it originally was expected to ship about Mar. 16th. On March 15th, I got an email saying it would be further backordered -- to April 6th.

I subsequently ordered 500 of .38 Spc -- ordered that on Mar. 14th. Maybe I'll get it for my birthday in July.

I want to have practice ammo on hand, besides a reserve for emergency use. I now have the reserve only in .38, and the .357 should be okay for a while.

i have been stocking up on rifle ammo like .223 and 7.62x39. i've been collecting other ammo too for some reason although i don't have the guns for it (it was the thought of getting that caliber gun) like 9mm, .22lr, and some military 30-06 ammo with a few clips for the m1 garand.

Well, I don't see an "end of the world" scenario so, yes.

However, let's be realistic: I'd like to OWN Black Hills or Lake City. Either one; oh, and Sierra.

Then and ONLY then could ANYONE state that they have "enough".

Yes, that is very greedy and, no, I would not shoot any more than I do if I had all of that. It just would be nice to have it all neatly stacked in ammo cans on industrial shelving. That would be my undeground "storm bunker". Also in this bunker would be videos, food, water, workout equipment and one helluva library.

Okay, it's late and I'm losing it...
