Are you satisfied with the amount of ammo you have on hand?

Yes there is but kerosene cost well over $5 a gallon and is climbing,3 weeks ago it was cheaper than deisel!I am not talking about heating just on the cool winter nights, lets talk about running the furnace hard for 4.5 months at least! There is an 86 year old in the house and we like to keep the old fart warm!

i could never be satisfied, i am normally "easy to please" as i am told alot, but in the amount of guns, ammo, mags, and training that i have i can never get enough or have enough!

Not even close. I probably have less than 1500 rounds, total, for every gun I own, and it's not distributed evenly at all. For one of my rifles, I only have the 20 round box I bought to make sure the gun goes "bang" when I pull the trigger. So... I have 17 rounds for that rifle. Not good. I really can't stockpile the ammo the way I would like, since I'm planning to stay mobile for the foreseeable future.

I'll start accumulating a decent level of ammo once I have a home I plan to stay in for more than a couple years. I don't want to get stuck carting around a ton of ammo every time I move... that stuff is heavy!

It would be difficult for me to be satisfied with anything short of a million rounds for every caliber that I currently shoot or might expect to shoot.

Such being the case, no, I'm not satisfied by what I have on hand.

there is no such thing as enough ammo.

there is however, such a thing as not enough money. :)

No. Not even close, considering prices. Shoulda bought all the M855 and Portugese .308 and cheap 9mm ball I could have about 10 years ago.
I've got a decent supply now (~10K rounds), but price increases have rendered it more a stash of precious metals than blasting ammo.

No, I am not, but how much have prices gone up in the past few months?

For me, they haven't gone up at all for a few months. 7.62x39 is about $.20 .223 is between $.25 and $.40 for the cheap stuff. 7.62x54r is staying around $.18.

Anyone else notice? Considering that metal prices are back down and oil prices are declining(for now at least) do you think ammo will stay the same or go lower?

No. Never enough ammo, brass, bullets, powder or primers. With prices going the way they I probably never will either.

Powder Valley got about $550 from me less than an hour ago. Powder, primers, and bullets. I'm going to back off otherwise due to storage constraints.

golden sabers

I'm satisfied that the mathematicians at the manufacturers have over estimated the "price elasticity of demand" for ammo, and now they have killed the goose that layed the golden eggs.

A similar mishandling of statistics occured a few years ago in the cold cereal food industry and when the consumer no longer bought the stuff, the industry did what they were loathe to do; that is, the significantly cut back on the high demanded prices and gradually the consumers began to eat cereal again.

Like that side of the market, the demand never did return to the same level as before, and so they lost.

I have just under 2000 rds of .45, just over 1000 rds of 9mm, about 2500 or so 12ga and quit counting .22lr when I realized there were 500rd and 550rd bricks and decided I didn't want to refigure it all (probably upwards of 8000 rds but less than 10000 rds). I also have a few other odds and ends calibers hanging around but nothing I'd turn to in a SHTF situation.

So that being said, NO I don't have anywhere near enough. I am looking forward to the faces of my neighbors when I move out of my little apartment to return to the countryside I never should have left.:D

Since I live in a 1 bedroom apartment, I probably have more than I should, but not nearly as much as I want.
