I own a few Armalite rifles, my pistols are revolver and auto, mainly in the 1911 platform. I know Armalite makes the AR 24 series autos in 9mm and I think they even made a .45 acp. I just don't ever see them or read anything about them. Anyone own one, recommend one or have any experience with one.

Armalite never managed to market a .45 version, just the 9mm.

Apparently they no longer import the AR-24, since I don't see it listed on their web page.

They had a couple 9mms that were CZ 'knock-offs' (75B, P01)...
Never owned one but saw one at the range a couple years back. Seemed very well made and the owner really liked his.
They were made by Sarsilmaz a Turkish gun mfgr... EAA was also selling their guns but recently turned them over to another importer (?).
Not sure if these models are still around in US but if their prices are in the $300 range they would be a buy... but anything approaching CZs prices, I'd go with the CZ.

Their AR24 was a Turkish clone of the TA/TZ/EAA copy of the CZ.

It was very nicely finished on the outside, not as nice on the inside. I've handled 2 and shot one. It felt just like the EAA I shot...but it has been tuned quite a bit by someone trained on the old Springfield Armory P9

An AR-24 currently on GUNBROKER for $399...

CenterfireGuns is currently selling the EAA Tanfoglio 9mm and .45 for $400+... similar to the AR-24.

I've had the AR-24 for about 3 years. I also own several CZ's. I've never had an issue with mine and it's done great. The Armalite's at least as good a gun, but not nearly as sexy. I find I shoot the original's much more often.

The AR-24 was supposed to be a CZ 75 clone with a nod to the Sig 210. They are decently well made.

AR-24s are just EAA Witness (Tanfoglio) clones.

Tanfoglios are very similar to, but not exact copies of, CZ 75s.

It's all steel professional grade service pistol though good pair of suspenders will be needed to keep pants on if one chooses to wear it on the belt.
