Army Told Not to Use Israeli Bullets in Iraq

I like the idea of shipping the empty Win white boxes over there and filling them with local product. :D I thought I read the Win White box was made in Israel?

"There's a sensitivity that I think all of us recognize,"

Since when have we been worried about the feelings of someone that we shoot. After all, if we do our job right, the terrorist won't have a chance to inspect the brass casings. I think Abercrombie has been to one to many pink sensitivity training sessions. I can't believe the generals didn't laugh him out of the meeting.

As if using ammo from IMI would make matters any worse. Islamists are already mad at every single facet of Western civilization and want to take it down.

One of my coworkers mentioned how Abercrombie's softened on his earlier leanings. He seems to back the shipyard here a little more, I think I saw an article in a back issue of our newspapers about how he lobbied for more work going to Pearl Harbor. However, this latest statement from him shows things haven't really changed... Now if people here would quit voting based on familiar names and vote on performance and issues instead :fire: .

Foghornl, that story actually sounds like an adaptation (a VERY close one) to a stand-up routine by the great Robin Williams.

I think it would be funny to pop muslim terrorists with Israeli made bullets. Shoot 'em in the legs and then show them the "Made in" stamp.:neener:

I can see the point, as long as our troops aren't being shorted on ammo due to this PC stuff.

If they can use it just for training, fine.

On a related point, though I don't recall ever hearing any administration official say it, some pundits hoped that Iraq would join Turkey as a fairly friendly nation to Israel. So far it doesn't seem like that's going to happen.

I Swear, the Current "Obsession" with Political Corectness is going to be the death of most Civilized Nations if we dont do something about it...

It's Outta controll!.

W4rma has a point. If we believe the many reports of Iraqi citizens supporting our presence in Iraq instead of the endless negativism from some news/political sources then not everyone there is the enemy. Not even the majority of people there are. Then why would you not want to show respect our friends who are subject to threats of death by Islamic terrorists by avoiding using something as symbolic as ammuniton supplied by a country they have a beef with. Friendly fire includes civilians that support us.

Hmm. hso has made me rethink my initial knee-jerk reaction to this article. Darn. Maybe I'm not as rigid and hidebound as I thought. I'm going to have to work on that. Why do you people insist on making me think? Og brain hurt... ;)

A few of you stole my thunder...

... stamp the head "USA" and ship it.

Now... if we advertised it heavily in the Mid-East that we were using that ammo exclusively for ALL bad guys - including TV, Web sites, radio, papers, magazines, pamphlet drops, product ads, etc., maybe the BG's would decide that they didn't want to go out with "those" projectiles in their bods. Who knows, a big ad campaign might just end this thing. Scare their butts off. Why not?

(For the unfortunates in the middle, maybe we could get a an absolution specialist to "relieve the stigma".)

On to something positive... since we know that "practice shooting" is something the services don't get enough of, I'd hope that "surplus" training ammo - as in Win Q3131A (IMI) 5.56 will hit the market again. (I haven't been able to get any for months without buying a case lot - and it is Lake City, not IMI).

I can see it now:

"Abdul! It appears that the American infidels have shot you in the gut!"

"Yes Hassan. But praise Allah, the bullet was not made by the Jews!"

IMI is working with American Ammo now as a way to continue to serve this particular need. I think they are shipping in the components and AMERIC is loading, but I coud be wrong.

Good gawd man, we better make sure there aren't any jews working in the Winchester plant either. What would be worse, being killed by jewish made ammo or realizing there aren't 72 virgins and no AC?

Ridiculous

That's about the silliest thing I've heard lately. Personally, I think
they oughta start dippin' their ammo in bacon fat and announce it over the airways...

Jeff Cooper was right. The A-bomb ain't gonna do us in...It's gonna
be terminal silliness from the PC blissninnies that does it.

We must be very careful not to offend these people. They might get angry and start cutting Americans heads off or hijacking air planes.

WHAT HORSE SH**!

Israeli ammo is too damn good for these folks.

Its Kosher no pork just like Islaamic law requires. I say we make it on a hog farm and dip it in pig entrails first.

I cant believe that folks would be worrying about offending the Turds who hate us and want to see us totally destroyed. Haven't thay learned the only way to Negotiate with these folks is with hot lead?????? Did this congress idiot see the world trade center fall? Did he listen to what the terrorists have said over and over again? The one thing we can trust the terrorists on is that they will not stop until we are all destroyed and our children are dead as well, so long as they can draw a breath.

We kill them or they kill us its that simple. We are good they are bad.

I am 100% sure of this.

Hear hear! Or maybe just start a "whispering campaign" that individual soldiers are doing it with their bacon, pork chop, and ham MRE's . . .

There's a poll running at WorldNetDaily.com on this very issue . . . last time I checked, dipping the bullets in pork first was leading all responses.

A couple of years ago, there was an article about an Israeli rabbi who'd "invented" a bullet containing a small piece of pork . . . the idea was that not only would you kill the terrorist, you'd also - according to his own religion - kill his soul.

And if the mullahs started giving dispensations, and began telling the terrorists they'd still get their 72 virgins even if defiled by pig flesh, well, it would sort of undermine their beliefs, right?

The whole pig thing is racist hatriotism. :fire:

1) The guys coming back say that the Iraqis they've dealt with that are grateful for our help outnumber the antis 10 to 1 and outnumber the ones that hate us 1,000 to 1. That means that the vast majority are friendlies that support us.

2) If friendly fire hits our own troops then the friendly Iraqis down range of our fire can get even more.

3) Friendly Iraqis won't stay very friendly if they get the idea that we're willfully using ammuntion made in Israel that will hit them (I doubt they like colateral damage at all, but "insult to injury" takes on a whole new meaning under these circumstances)

4) Older ammuntion stocks get drawn down first and newer inventory replaces it so the Israeli made ammuniton would be used to replace inventory being used in Iraq.

Actually this whole thing sounds like a congresscritter got an letter from a sheeple (more than likely from their district), where the sheeple repeated a multihanded version of the old Dum-Dum sweeper story.

The Dum-Dum sweeper story originated in British India prior to the Mutiny of 1857. The fear of the sepoys (Indian native troops) was that the British were trying to break the caste system of the Hindu or impinge the piousness of the Musselman. The sweeper heard a story from the "insert favorite relation here" of a friend that the British were coating the bullets issued to Hindu regiments with beef tallow and the ones going to the Musselman were dipped in pork lard. This one one of the great rumors that helped start the Mutiny (not to mention the conditions).

As for this, small arms ammunition is just as deadly regardless of where it is made.
