Seems to me this could actually trigger a caliber war!! The 40 is obviously underpowered. If that was a 45, there would have been two very unfortunate deaths!

Naw I think the 40 is plenty. It wasnt aimed far enough to the left. Only hit the drivers forearm. But if it was a mere 45 he may have been able to stop the bullet with his hand (just in case the Glock safety fails) by covering the muzzle. That way it would have been perfectly fine to aim it at your friend.

We learn form our misteaks

Many years ago we got a new tool for cutting out gaskets. One day a worker cut his hand with it. He went to the dispensary and got it sewed up and bandaged.

The safety department wanted to investigate if the tool was too dangerous to use. They asked the guy to show how he was using it. He demonstrated and cut his hand again.

He demonstrated and cut his hand again.

I worked construction for years. The safety on a big pneumatic nailer jammed, and the guy using it was smacking the safety and the muzzle of the nail gun with his left hand while he held the trigger depressed with his right hand. It shot a 16 spiral shank through his palm. Two days later and back at work (with the hand bundled up like a catcher's mit) he demonstrated how the accident happened to a worker who hadn't seen it.

Yep. Shot himself through the same hand. He did manage to make a new hole, avoiding using the old one.

I drove him to the ER. The same doctor cleaned and re-packaged his hand.

The doctor laughed the whole time.
