Attempted Carjacker in Memphis gets surprised

What is it with Memphis?! The one and only time I've seen a gun used in self-defense (actually, defense of others) was just across the river, in West Memphis. I know, it's a different town, but if I woke up in one rather than the other, I'd have to check a map I suspect.

(The incident I saw -- described in another post, so I'll not belabor -- involved 4 or 5 young men kicking an elderly man on the ground at a gas station, which they suddenly stopped when from inside the station a man came out with a gun, fired it into the air. Think what you want of "warning shots," that one did the trick.)

I like the tactic. To all of you screaming "SICKO" and "YOU GIVE US ALL A BAD IMAGE!!!" you all need to think about how much you value your image vs how much you value your life. If some thug threatens my life, I will use every tool available to me to fend him off. Gas pumps, pitchforks, fuzzy pink bunny slippers, whatever is close at hand. Having your hand on the gas pump is a lot more normal looking than having it on your gun. If I just pull the pump out of the car and spray him, it'll catch him off guard and distract him long enough to draw, aim, and fire. I'll take any time advantage I can.

Hell, if I was in that situation, that gas pump would have been real handy too!
