Guys, the event happened in Cobb County, (read, "heavily Republican") GA. The guy won't be prosecuted, and it's highly unlikely that he'll be sued. If he were sued, there are a number of fine attorneys who'd represent him pro bono. Don't confuse Cobb County, GA with the "more civilized" states like MA, KA, NY, MD, etc., etc.

But stealing, assaulting, raping and killing makes a rat a rat. Not the color, or

As far as the "New Orleans Refugee" thing, I'd bet ten bucks this guy isn't really a refugee. We've been seeing scams and hearing sob-stories from "refugees" who are actually locals for the last two weeks, and it turns my stomach.

The actual displaced folks I've seen are all kinds, and yeah, most of them are dirt-poor now. They got out with only what they could carry, and most can't even get access to what money they have in the bank. So, yeah, alot of 'em look pretty rough.

However, there's a big difference between someone who's just poor and someone who's a murdering rapist, and I while my heart goes out to these folks, I've got no sympathy for the second type.

As regards refugees, the only ones I have seen are staying with me. He, his wife, and 2 children have lost their home and business. They are decent people who are facing a horrible loss with courage, humor and a dignity that I know I would have a hard, if not impossible, time doing.

I am confident, in the end, the scumbag carjacker was the same person who committed 2 rapes before this incident, and before the hurricane I believe.

Philly is putting them all up in a school in North Philly. It's a pretty rough neighborhood. The good people will be well motivated to get out of there and the LA rats will be eaten alive by the homegrown variety.

That logic makes sense if you are twelve. When you talk about adults though, it's nonsense. You are where you are in life as a result of your choices, good and bad. You need the government to take care of you because you chose to surrender personal responsibility to it. It has nothing to do with your color, maybe 40 years ago but not now. If you ignored the warnings and remained ignorant of the dangers of hurricanes while living in a known vulnerable area, you are a foolish person with misplaced values. I will not absolve you of all responsibility because of your color, environment, or economics.
