Hi folks,

I've been poking around looking to pick up a Remington 870P with walnut furniture -- just the basic model with an IC barrel -- and after seeing a few on the shelves at a local store, they disappeared. And now...can't find 'em anywhere! (they go real fast in the classifieds, too...).

Anybody here have any insight into Remington LE's distribution chain? Most of the stores I've talked to either don't think they can get the 870P, or aren't interested in ordering one for me.

Can anybody point me to a distributor whose name I could drop that might have 'em?

thanks,
Neill

With the panic buying everything is hard to get. If it even looks like it might fall under a gun ban it is gone. Round two of panic buying is coming when the Commander and Chief takes office.

Neil,

A Wingmaster with a few mods is every bit as good in my book. The parts are readily available to upgrade to 870P status if you really want to go there. A heavier sear spring -- giving you a heavier trigger pull (8.5 lbs), heavier shell carrier spring, etc etc are easy enough to do if you really want to. With the build quality of he older Wingmasters, I don't see the need .

This is a 1970 WM with a few basic upgrades.

I snagged one of the bud's KY state police guns too. The price was too good to pass up and I can always snag a non-synthetic version later.

Watch Gunbroker.com or Auctionarms.com. There are police turn-ins that come up all of the time. They go from $200.00 up. I have bought two through Auctionarms.com.
