backwards primer

I don't think so. I am pretty froggy at times, (Like the time I blew up the 200 Amp breaker) but not crazy. :D

My goodness, this backwards primer generated 26, now 27 responses?

Good grief! Just toss the darn thing in the trash and move on. You're losing somewhere much less than a quarter. Big deal. In the time it takes for you to smack that bullet out, you could have loaded ten more rounds!

I have the reverse problem...
Loaded a case with powder, seated and crimped bullet.
No primer...
i have done that also. but those are easy to cure. time consuming, and tedious, but easy.
i will try taking this round apart tomorrow. i have spent most of the day trying to re-arranging / re-organizing and cleaning up the bench. thanks for everyones help!
"Good grief! Just toss the darn thing in the trash and move on."
it is not necessarily about the money. i just hate to throw away anything that can relitvely easily be salvaged. besides, i NEVER throw ammo, dead or alive in the trash. i could not take the chance of someones dad (garbage collector / land fill worker/ innocent bystander or driver passing by / etc.) getting killed from one of my mistakes.

why even bother with "killing " the primer, just run it through the deprimer, reprime, and keep on going

Why use oil vs water to kill the primer?
Because neither one is 101% reliable!

Better not even doing it then to have a false sense of security thinking it is kilt when it isn't!

And you don't need to kill the primer anyway.

The case & primer is totally surrounded by a steel die and press during depriming.

Stick a wadded up shop rag in front of the ram slot, and absolutey nothing can get out of the press & die.

Even in the very very remote chance one did go off.

rc are you sure that if by chance the primer goes off it won't yank the press handle right out of your hand, possibly bending it when it comes to a violent stop.

JUST JOKING

BTW if someone feels better "killing" the primer with water he can set it asside to dry out and then reuse it.

ok, ENOUGH ARGUEING! it is out! it came right out like any dead primer would. NO, i did not "try to kill" the primer. no big deal. thank everyone for the help! that is one of the biggest benifits of being a member here, getting and giving help / opinions. this place is Fort Knox of gun knowledge!
