Barrel break in?

I followed two maker’s recommendations to break in their barrels.
Ol’ Gale notwithstanding, it took 13 rounds for one and 33 for the other.
I used good ammo and shot carefully between wipes. So by the time I was done, I had 100 yard zeros and chronograph readings, shots I would have fired anyhow. No loss of barrel life.

Your barrel will never be "broken-in."

Eh… I don’t subscribe to this ^, because of this v

There’s more variability in the first 100 rounds than there is in the next 1 or 2 thousand. You can see it in the chronograph data and reduction in fouling

So whatever you choose to call it, a barrel is changing pretty significantly for 100-150 rounds, then it DOESN’T change significantly for 1-2 thousand, literally an order of magnitude more rounds, and then it starts changing significantly again every 100 rounds… well… it’s pretty clear we have a short unstable phase followed by a long stable phase, followed again by more (and progressive) instability…

I burn in my match barrels, before I start trusting them. And then I don’t really have to think about them for a long time, and when I have to think about them again, I replace them…

your OWN post states what you claim to have received from Browning in email, specifically regarding accuracy...
The FAQ on the Browning web site seems to be about barrel longevity:
>> After following the procedure, your barrel's interior surface will be sealed and should shoot cleaner and develop less fouling for the rest of its shooting life <<

But what Browning told me when I queried them seems to be about accuracy:
>> ...if you are getting a good grouping you do not have to do the break in process <<

Yeah, but that is going to happen whether you do the magical sequence or not.

It’s just a process. Some follow it and some don’t. There’s nothing magical about it.

All I said was I won’t start any load development until my barrel has settled (I.e. “broken in”). I know when I’ve reached that point because I follow a process.

I agree, methods should be developed by and from positive results. Magic and feelings don't have much bearing, if wanting to win or kill is the goal.
