Just as an FYI, you want a relatively short length gas system, compared to a 5.56 barrel. This is due to the larger bore of the 300BLK giving the gasses a lot more room to expand for a given length of barrel (i.e. losing pressure faster). That said, I've never seen a 16" barrel with anything less than a carbine length gas system....

Kreiger Barrels....

Did you check www.Kriegerbarrels.com ?
They have a limited run of 16.5 inch .300aacblackout barrels for ARs-M4s. I don't think they include any gas tubes or parts but you'd need to check.
Krieger Barrels are highly rated by gun owners, target shooters & professional gunsmiths.

I picked up an 8.5" from palametto for $79 during their black Friday sale. I have only shot it out to 65 yards (distance from my shop window to the bullet trap) but it looks like a heck of a deal so far.

most 16" barrels I have seen run a carbine gas system.

300aac is still a fairly new ballgame, and there are such a wide variety of loads for it with radically different pressures, and suppresed or unsupressed, different gas port hole widths, it's almost like the wild west. Some stuff works, some doesn't you kind of just need to experiment. I don't know that there is 1 setup that works with absolutely everything for everybody. Not that that's any help to you :/
