Basic case sizing question

Explain please? My experience tells me sizing/shoulder bump is controled the same as any other FL die. The only exception is, the neck is not sized all the way to the shoulder.

That is the point. With any non-bushing FL die, the procedure is as follows as the case goes further up into the die: case body begins to be sized further and further down the case as the case goes further up into the die; as the case is well up into the die, the case neck begins to be sized; and LASTLY, the case shoulder is bumped back. You shorten the amount of the case going up into the die and you impact the last step: shoulder bump. Unless the FL bushing die has an up and down adjustment in relation to the lower body sizing part of the die (and I admit I don't know that it does), then just like a standard FL sizing die, when you reduce the amount that the case is inserted into the die you are impacting the shoulder bump portion of resizing.

The Redding S Type FL sizer adjusts the amount of body/shoulder sizing with the die body threads, but adjusts the amount (How far down) you size the neck with the threads on the insert which stops upward travel of the bushing. The bushing "floats" up/down in the "chamber" that holds it.
