BBQ handguns here in the Southwest are fancy setups that one carries to a large social event BBQ. Last fall I went to one that had over a 100 people, lots of open carry and shooting at the property's wash, including kids learning to shoot center fire revolvers.

I have a nice looking M29/6.5" nickel plated Smith that's rather stunning to look at; however, last fall I carried a stock Colt 1911 in 38Super - a real BBQ caliber. :D

I like to show mine off any chance I get. S&W M-58, according to factory letter it started life as a San Antonio, TX PD revolver. I have no idea who did the engraving or plating but they did a good job. It shoots as good as it looks. Keep shootin'

Bust out a pretty gun at a BBQ? Here at a BBQ in CA, we bust out our ACLU cards! :)

I <3 BBQ gun threads :D
was surprised that the first-responders weren't familiar with the infamous tale of the BBQ Pistola!

I ended up selling the most BBQ worthy gun I ever owned, after owning it for three years or so. I sold it because I never shot it nor did I plan to, and I like to shoot my guns. I sold it to fund the purchase of my first 1911, which I shoot often and will never sell :)

here she is, a 24k gold and nickel engraved Armi San Marco 1858... I just couldn't bring myself to load and shoot it, ever... if I had been invited to "The BBQ" when I still owned it, I would have found some proper BBQ grips :)

I know they lack the proper engraving, but if I was invited to "The BBQ" today, I'd wear the both of these:

PS: Pyro that photo is hilarious! thank you for that

I'd love to have an Ed Brown Kobra Karry. I'm just not sure I want the bobtail. I'd like to have it with a flat mainspring housing.

Some nice look BBQ guns in this thread, of course there are also a bunch that are just regular factory guns. No matter how nice the factory gun is around these parts a BBQ gun has to be a very fancy factory gun, or a customized gun. My BHP on the top here is about the bare minimum that we would consider a BBQ gun, and the CZ at the bottom for a fancy factory gun. Although the BHP is highly customized on the inside and shoots really good it's pretty low end for a BBQ gun around many of my friends.

I still say that a BBQ gun is how well you shoot it on a bet/demand at the/a BBQ, and if it's fancy, it's fancy.
That is why the Gold Cup is in my post. But, I will only shoot for fun or on request, not demand.

The PPK/S is a good shooter too. My Practical BHP is a good shooter but the Renasaunce BHP does not get shot much and has a crappy trigger.
