Well, I ordered an upper that I've been on the fence about.
This is me, also. Side-charging upper for a Grendel build (finally breaking down and doing an AR, though kicking and screaming and not putting up with that stupid charging handle; may do a bufferless piston upper, too). Also one of those slimmed-down EFFEN90 PS90 receivers for an SBR ahead of 41F and/or BANIC '16

BTW, the secret to Banics is to cultivate tastes in obscure stuff that isn't prone to animal stampedes when stuff like this happens. Last time, I was stocking up on GP11 ammo when it was cheaper than 308 NATO ball.

I'm expecting shortages, but short term ones of several months at most. People will panic, and there's a lot more shooters than in previous years, but manufacturing has grown so incredibly much (couldn't you count the AR manufacturers on like one hand eight years ago?) that they'll be able to handle short-lived several-hundred percent demand spikes by increasing shifts for a few quarters.

Here's to this not being the last Banic!

I had a new gun owner over to shoot on Sunday. He got some instruction and then we did some shooting on my range. Went thru 100+ rounds of 9 with his pistol and I shot up 60+ rounds of 45acp. I told him to shoot all he wants, I'll make more... :)
Sure is nice when ammo cost simply isnt a factor when shooting at the range, isnt it?

Nothing bought in a long while, I got all my ducks in a row last year. enough brass, lead, primers and powder on hand to get me through one election term easily. much longer if I dont go and shoot off 600 rounds every time I hit the range. I dont see any need to panic. There may be a short little blip of buying but I think that everyone has bought so much crap in the past 3 years. I believe it has been made pretty clear that the American public simply wont stand for any more restrictive gun laws.

I ordered 100 rounds of ammo.

I wish I could have ordered a lot more. And reloading supplies too for when I take the time to do that. Taking the long term view I still need a lot, and I mean a LOT, more ammo.

No. Did many people actually not plan ahead when/If they had some extra cash for gun sports? I sympathize with those who could not afford extra.
For those who had such an option, have all of them heard of Columbine, Tucson, VA Tech, Newtown and other random, terrible events, and figured no more would take place? They might have assumed that ISIS was no longer an inspiration and excuse for the demented.

Selling a handgun this Wed. in order to help buy another rifle in 7.62x39. Many cases of the ammo are stored for retirement.
The Armslist (TN) handgun ad for the CZ-82 was posted about a week ago for a local FTF sale.

I didn't buy any guns or ammo yesterday, don't plan on buying any today, don't plan on buying any tomorrow.
I have dozens of firearms and muzzle loaders already and was well stocked on ammunition long before last weekend (with its tragic events in several U.S. cities, including the 2 events in Orlando alone).

Looks like the supposed gun/ammo grab "scare" doesn't really scare anyone anymore, so can we just dispense with it?

I actually saw Mini-mags in wally world and passed on them. I'm sitting on about 3500 22 LR, and we don't shoot them often. They even had 22 shorts that I haven't seen in a while.

Rifle powder is the only thing I could use some more of.

I reload and I'm not dependent on anybody. And I have plenty of components come what may.
Don't be too confident!
Reloading components are just as subject to panic buying as guns & ammunition. When Obama was elected and to a much greater extent after Sandy Hook powder and primers dried up for a long time. I am a competition shooter and had to struggle to find components both times.

Ever since the last two rushes I have vowed to never be caught like that again. Since then I have picked up a box every week for the calibers I use. I now have enough to last. Needless to say I didn't rush out to the sporting goods store.

I have been buying .22lr lately because the price is coming down not because of recent events. I did however buy 5 Troy Industries AR magazines because of Sunday's events. A couple of these were on my want list and I was going to get them sometime this month anyway but for $9.00 I got 3 instead of 2 and picked up a couple to sell (at my cost) to my coworkers. At this point I will probably keep the extra 2 magazines until I see how the current anti-AR fever plays out.

I didn't buy in response to Orlando. Just in case, I wanted to be Hillary compliant for the foreseeable future. So, I checked my inventories of primers, powders and projectiles and topped them off Saturday night. Obviously, I heard the news Sunday. Now, I'm doubly happy that I have a full stock.

I'm serious that sales of it seem to be vastly disproportionate to its actual use. I keep picturing preppers with pallets of the stuff in their bunkers. I suppose everyone's got to spend their money on whatever they find to be worthwhile.
I think maybe I understand. I shoot a lot but I hardly ever take a 22 to the range. I shoot most of my 22 at the farm and in the backyard. I tend to take the real noisemakers to the range instead.

Another 500 ordered today

So I ordered 600 pistol rounds the last two days.

However, I shot 850 pistol rounds the last three days.

hmmm I'm still in the hole here

Do you have a commercial reloader near you? I'm fortunate to have a company located 2 miles from where I live (being in a Los Angeles 900-- zipcode, I'm in an "ammunition no-ship" zone) that manufactures both reloaded brass and "new", using Starline brass. I use their new stuff but now that I have enough brass! I am about to begin my handloading odyssey...

Perceived panic buying from recent events has not caused me to make any purchase I hadn't already counted on making.

changed my mind

Voted "no, I've got plenty" initially, but today (Tuesday) picked up 80 rounds of ZQi 308 that was on sale for $9.97 per 20 at WalMart. Still about 20 boxes on the shelf, left those for others.

I also reload, but my CETME destroys the brass, so this was a good buy for me.

Nope, no ammo this week, but I just got back from the LGS. Picked up 2 bricks of primers and 1lb of H4895. Father rode along, didn't have any 1lbs of H4350, so he had to suffer with a great deal on an 8lb, which got us a discount on the whole lot.
