UPS delivered some ammo today, and there are ammo packages scheduled for each of the next three days as well

I did, but it was just coincidental to buying a new gun. I need more ammo.

It used to be that have ammo in reserve was common place. (for me anyway) I would suppose that now it might get you on some kind of list?

But, how wold they know?

At this point you would be crazy not to have a stockpile. Look at the polls and look at the funding of the two presumptive candidates. It is pretty clear that the outcome of the Presidential election is likely to be poor for second amendment rights. A big, fat hedge is a wise idea.

I did, but only because I just picked up a .44 carbine and I needed, among other things, dies, brass, and bullets.

But as far as .22, .380, .38/.357, 9mm, .45. .223. and 7.62, I've got what I think I need in reserves. I got into reloading a few years ago and I'm glad I did. Now when I start running low on factory ammo, I've got enough to keep cranking out ammo as I need it.

If things get really bad, I'll adjust as needed and maybe shoot a majority of .38 special and scale back a bit on other calibers, but I can more or less shoot and reload for years to come....

No, as usual only the Dem winning is a real threat

The potential for a buying panic has existed since the last one. Unless you live in a cave, you've been aware of this and should have been stocking up on the things you need so you can smooth your way through the next panic.

I am on the lookout for a reloading alternative to .22LR to help skate past those rough spots though.

goon, I decided that 38 spl would be my 22lr alternative. Easy and cheap to reload, can keep recoil very modest, works really well on small game, and plenty of fun for target work. YMMV.

I like light .38 loads too, but there is a poster on here who says he is shooting .327 reloads in his Rugers for 3 cents a shot. Not sure it makes sense to have to load for another caliber, but still... cheap and renewable. I still kick myself for not picking up that used Marlin 1894 .32 H&R Mag I saw that time at a local shop, but I didn't see the potential until it was already gone.
