Be Honest What Do You Really Carry??????

The pistola that's migrated to the truck is a Ruger P-85 9mm. Else if'n I'm hunting. One of the Ruger 44 mag's. If I'm out riding dirt bike with the boys, the Stainless Ruger SP101 .357mag fits nicely under my arm. I barely even know it's there when riding. Most often though, My trusty Stainless Colt Officer's ACP.

I started out carrying a Rossi .38, 'cause it was smaller, and a fullsize Springfield Loaded whenever I was wearing a coat (only on Sundays for 10 months of the year.) Now, if you see me and I'm not at work, I'm almost always carrying the 1911. I've found to be just as easy to carry as the revolver.

I do carry a little differently than most, though. I put the 1911 into a standard Galco belt holster and then slip it behind my pants at twelve o'clock with the grip pointing straight up. If the grip is angled to my right, the slide gets in the way, but I'm able to move normally with it turned up. The Galco does stay on it sometimes when I draw, though, and has to be knocked off. I want to get a Milt Sparks Versamax 2, but haven't gotten the money together yet.

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions

My buddy is a S&W 99 in 9mm. I like my Glocks but having that decocker on the top and a 1 pound follow up shot when using the trigger reset is priceless.

CZ PO1, Orca Bodyguard IWB rig, Uncle Mikes spare mag pouch, 29 rounds on tap. Hot weather, cold weather, in between weather, same gun, same holster, same place.

At work:

haHA, ya gotta be kiddin'. I work on the "other side of the checkpoint" at Portland International Airport. The only thing I can carry is my posterior in a bag if anything goes down. Oh, well, it's a living. For now.

Anywhere else: Colt Gold Cup in Galco OWB, one reload, and a CRKT M16-03Z. Looking into Fox Labs for a small, lightweight OC canister to "supplement the toolbox," as it were.

After 27 yrs of carry (LEO) I carry a SW 640 with 158 grn LHP......My duty gun is a SA 1911 TRP, but to be honest with you....carrying a CCW is a pain in the butt (my opinion)......My others are a Sig 230 (380) and a Sig P245 (rarely carried). The 640 is just too easy as a CCW.

you know, about 99% of the time I carry a Taurus 650. Every once in a great while I will actually pack my P90, which may or may not make some of you laugh. I am planning on buying a Taurus 24/7 in 9mm as soon as my stupid student loan rolls in, and that gun will basically become my "weekend at the mall" gun. My 605 will remain my daily workhorse though. Also, I use Wolf ammo exclusively. Is it the cleanest, most accurate ammo available? Definitly not, but heres the thing; I have shot somewhere around 2500 rounds of .45 and around 1000 rounds of .357 of the Wolf stuff and I have yet to expereince a FTF. I have also shot up alot of the 7.62x39 (many thousands) and .223 (maybe 300 rounds or so) offereings from Wolf, and there again, no FTF. Mock me if you will, but Wolf has earned my confidence when it comes to reliability. As far as the accuracy goes, sure, its not as accurate as some rounds, but its accurate enough to do its job if I do mine, so there you go. The final advantage is that since its cheaper, I can shoot alot more of what I carry, and I think thats an advantage.

I carry nothing at work. While out and about on my own though I carry a full size 1911 about 95% of the time. The other 5% is occupied by the Makarov or J-Frame, and very rarely, a Walther P99.

Walther P99 in a Blade-Tech IWB at 4:00. Extra mag left hip at 3:30(Surefire G2 included at night.) Currently, Kershaw Leek in right front pocket and Spyderco Endura in left front pocket. Gerber keychain knife(Ridge?) in right front pocket on keychain.

Kimber compact CDP in a VMII is supposed to be my primary carry gun but I have been carrying my Kahr PM9 in a FIST ultra thin kydex holster more and more. I love both guns. I guess it is just being lazy but the Kahr is just so much easier to carry. They are both great guns. I like both holsters too.

General running and home PPK/S in Don Hume IWB or pocket holster Going to Lexington or Louisville Colt Combat Commander IWB and Mustang in pocket Hate going to either one to dam many people.

What do I carry?

Touchy subject. At work? Nothing but a Spyderco and a smile. Seems that carrying a concealed weapon where I work is kind of a Federal offense...literally. When not at work, 95% of the time, I carry this in Kramer leather on a Galco belt:

YostOACP1.gif

Wilson mags (one spare) loaded with 230gr Gold Dots.

If I can't pull the OACP off, I go with this, loaded with Cor-Bon +Ps in an Alessi pocket holster:

It's reliable, smooth and accurate...and I just flat don't trust the caliber to save my butt. I see a Rohrbaugh or a Kahr PM9 in my immediate future.

depends

around home an old (72) walther ppks iwb, if i go to town normaly either a sig220 or para p13 iwb allways with one reload ( i have faith in the pistols , not in the mags ) as stated earlier ccw is a pain but no one needs to see my snake gun around the place nor my social gun around the town lol

Glock 19 in a Softholster shoulder holster.
It's so comfortable I sometimes forget I'm carrying.

Smith 340 in a Kramer Pocket holster when it's hot,

Sig P245 in a Milt Sparks VM-2H when it's cooler,

Sig P220ST in a Milt Sparks BN-2H when it's cold,

Ruger 9.5" Super Redhawk when it's beary.

My Carry Cannon...

Is a Delta Elite IWB. Other option is a CZ-75. I'm finding both to be too heavy.
