Be Honest What Do You Really Carry??????

HK USP45 Compact Stainless in an Uncle Mike's size 15 soft IWB holster riding strong-side with a 2nd magazine riding my left hip in a Gerber Multi-tool sheath...seven days a week. :)

Used to be a Walther P99 without the second magazine (unless I had it in my pocket) but I just got the 45C as a ",oving gift" hehe.

I used to own all kinds of handguns, had them stashed all over the place and had different carry mehtods for different situations. I dumped that mode of thinking (changing the gun AND method per situation) and decided, I only need one Hadngun, and I need to find ways to carry that one handgun all the time. I am down to three handguns. A .357 mag revolver and the Walther and my USP. The revolver is just for kicks though, can't carry that thing, it's huge!

So yeah, you won't find me in a public swimming pool or a wet t-shirt contest anytime soon. ;)

I am working on getting rid of the P99 and getting another .45 (1911 or USP fullsize with a light mounted) for the bedside.

Carry options

CONKMWC,
If you are not comfortable carrying then you will eventually stop carrying. You might want to consider a glock or a SW 99. Both weigh very little compared to the Delta or the CZ.

I did not like Glocks. I thought they looked cheap because they were made of plastic.

The day was coming that the department I am with was going to switch to the Glock 22. We were told that the factory rep would meet us at the range and help us with any questions that we had. I figured I wanted to see this rep so I went. Our range road is graveled. He showed up with a Glock 22 trailing from his bumper on a chain. The weapon was banged up pretty good but no cracks and nicks in it. He took the weapon off of the chain and fired it. Suddenly, durability is no longer an issue with me!

I carry a Commander size custom Springfield every day, all day.
My wife carries a Springfield Champion.

I'm thinking RAMI

TWOLF - I agree with you completely. I need a better solution. I have been very pleased with my CZ and am considering a switch to the RAMI in 9mm. It holds 10+1 rounds which should be plenty. The 16+1 rounds in my 75B are getting heavy! And the Delta, while a formidable weapon, is also heavier than a 1911 in .45 due to additional mass in the slide. The RAMI seems like a good solution, my only concern is that it is only a few millimeters thinner than the CZ-75B because it has a double stack mag. My Delta would probably be thinner.

Since it's summer and I'm not big on wearing my suit jacket

I've been carrying the Karhr MK9 a lot lately, in the 'smartcarry' holster.

I don't switch guns for winter or summer - I carry the same stuff in the same rig all year. Kimber Compact CDP I, spare mag and Surefire E2e, all in Brommeland holsters on a Brommeland belt.

Actually, that's what a "Gun Control" book published for elementary-school-aged children reads (and also that it can pass through metal detectors at security checkponts.

In reality, they're about 80-90% metal, including the slide, magazines, barrel, and "internals".

For some unknown reason I recently sold my Smiths and purchased some older Ruger "Six" guns.
2 3/4" stainless Speed Six, 6" blue Security Six, both .357 magnum. Carry mostly the Speed, sometimes the Security Six in a fanny pack (a BIG one)

Also, sometimes carry a 4 5/8" Vaquero .45 ACP.

Carry a Keltec .32ACP as a backup or when I'm unarmed.

I've been watching this thread with some interest. To those who carry all that gear in the pictures they provided on a 24/7 basis: My hat's off to you! I don't carry much more on my duty gear! When carrying concealed, I usually just stick a small auto or revolver in my pocket or waist band and go. I guess because of my profession, I like to travel light when I can. I hope to resolve any issue I might have with the 5-7 rounds I have in the gun. At least it may get me back to my rifle!

I am now just sticking a Taurus 851 .38 special in my pocket.

Since 9/11, I have "bit the bullet" and virtually always carry a Glock 19 in IWB holster, generally no spare mag. If I shrinked a bit at the waist, I probably would.

While I have a "plethora" (I HATE THAT WORD!) of other guns, I have become increaingly conscious of staying tuned up with just one thing.

My idea of a backup is another G19.

A spyderco is always with me 24/7 :D depending on the dress-P-14 or beretta 84, that 380 has enough servicability to get by( and enough rounds ), the honey SWEARS by the P-12, although her duty sidearm is a glock 17. I REALLY,REALLY want an H&K 40 USP, that is the easiest shooting pistol I have ever grabed hold of.

I carry a Blue Colt Officers ACP. The pistol has been converted to a Flgr and a single spring set up. I carry this pistol in a Galco IWB holster loaded with remington golden sabre's...

'94 SA milspec, '76 SW Bodyguard-both
ugly and dinged as heck. For some reason
I have no SS gun-go figure. Whats a Glock? ;)

Really hot summer weather Kahr MK40
with my P-3AT somewhere. Warmer but not killer weather. Either Sig 245 or 239. Or recently my H&K Compact .45. Either my P-3AT or 642 close at hand. Cold winter
weather. 1911Sc, Sig 220, xd-9, or any of several full sized guns. 642 as back-up.

Yesterday I purchased a S&W 642 to compliment my Taurus 851.

At home: I keep a fully loaded gun in the bedroom and one downstairs, relatively hidden. S&W 66-1 4" with 158gr doubletap, and CZ-75 loaded 10+1 of 124gr +P Hornady XTPs.

At work: De nada. Papa Fed says that he doesn't trust civilians to carry on his land and farms that work out to a private security force. Does that trouble me? Somewhat, but the force is large and this place is littered with hidey-holes. Someone hits a rampage and unless I'm victim #1 or just really unlucky I stand a really good chance of surviving (unless my hidey-hole happens to be radioactive or laced with beryllium dust of 1000 other things that float around here).

At work#2: I keep a S&W 432 on my hip, 6 of .32 H&R magnum. I call it my "nametag" :)

Glock 27 with meprolights loaded with WWB JHP, IWB in a cheap gunshow holster. Extra mag (+2 extension for 11 total) in a cargo pocket.

The cheapo holster is actually very comfortable, and holds the gun secure enough. I can run around, but i probably couldnt do cartwheels. :p

At work where carry is umm not allowed, and i have to tuck in my shirt, i carry a P32 in a back pocket holster.
