I was at a pawn shop today and saw a nice looking bolt action carbine. I asked about it and the guy said it was a Beretta in 6.5mm. The rifle looked nice, and is only $119. So my question is, what 6.5mm cartridge does it use??? The action looks way to short to use the 6.5X55 or the .260 Rem(it's also to old to use the .260 Rem). Also how hard is it to find/ how expensive is the ammo it uses?

no idea... didn't know beretta ever made a bolt gun but i'd spring for it and take it to the 'smith and find out what it was chambered for.

good chance it is a semi-custom rifle.

Can't imagine any 6.5 rifle by Beretta other than a sporterized Carcano that could sell for $119. Ammo is 6.5x52 and last I looked was available from Graf's. These rifles also require mannlicher style clips which aren't always easily available.

gary

the only modern "beretta" bolt guns are made by Sako and Tikka. They will keep that name, even though they are owned by Beretta.

It's not modern so I gues a Carcano carbine is most likely what it is. How hard to find/expensive is the 6.5X52 ammo to get. Also how can I be sure that's what it needs, the clip looks like it would take a very short cartridge

It looks like a nice rifle for only $119, and will probably buy it is the ammo isn't to hard to find.

If you are gonna get a Carcano, might as well get the beretta made one, since they are the best. but you are going to hate those clips, after the first 50 jams or so you have, because of them...

new made ammo is expensive, but milsurp ammo for it can be quite reasonable...
but you are still gonna hate those stupid clips!!!

I have a 6.5 Carcano with a stock marked with the Beretta name. I can only assume Beretta made some stocks for these rifles at some period in time.
