I see that Beretta discontinued the Vertec, Inox and Brigadier models. I was wondering if the 92 is on its way out and what the story is about why Beretta got rid of the models that they discontinued?

I know that the army contract will keep them around, but what is Berettas plan?

I think it's an evolution w/in their product line w/ the intro of the 90-two. THey would have to trim down the inventory to bring attention to their new model...just my 2 cents :D

No more DA only models?

Why did BerettaUSA drop the da only models? I had a great 96D .40 a few years ago. I checked Beretta's military/LE/security website and saw they had no new DA only models.

The DAO Berettas were honestly never big sellers. I think the vast majority of double-action-only automatics were police department purchases, and these have gone out of style in favor of short trigger pull systems, like the Glock/XD striker triggers, HK's LEM, Sig's DAK, and the new trigger setup available on the Beretta PX4 Storm pistol.

In my opinion i think their fazing out alloy frames cause it's cheaper to make poly. How do you say "good profit margin" and before anyone argues didn't they just put out the 90-two in an polymer frame. A poly frame carbine and isn't the PX4 poly. What new major production piece is all metal. Think about it.

In my opinion metals fading away like the dinosaurs. I won't let it be forgotten! No sir!

That big plastic grip and the front thing that covers the rail threw me off thanks for putting me in my place
PS Still, think about all the new semi-autos coming out. At least half if not more are Poly. HK; S&W; FNH; more not worth mentioning.

The 90-Two is NOT a poly frame, it's still an alloy frame with redesign of the 92/96 frame. The grips are different than the 92/96 and it fools people.

Beretta has stopped making the 96 models, the 90-two was designed originally for the .40 cal and will take the place of the 96 models.
