I didn't like the trigger on mine and sold it to a friend.

It went bang every time and was as accurate as most service pistols.

I have and have carried a PX4 storm in 45acp.

This pistol shoots good and is very accurate. My ONLY complaint is the safety levers. I don't like the way the end sticks out.
I have carried this pistol and I am confident with the accuracy and reliability.

I wish they did one in 10mm!!

I went with the Stealth/Decock only conversion on my ex-LEO PX4 45 two years ago. At the same time I installed a Langdon 11# hammer spring. The PX4 went from a good CCW to great one with those two minor modifications. Once the weather get cold up here in NY, my p365 spends a lot of time in the safe and the PX4 pulls EDC duty.

I had both a 9 and a 45 and sold them both. Shot with decent accuracy, but triggers on both were lousy...the 9 had the "sting" many have experienced. I bought the 45 to see if it was lighter recoil compared to a 1911. It wasn't, at least that I could appreciate. In the meantime, both are ugly, top-heavy, too wide for my hands, and anyway, I'm not, in general, a polymer fan...as evidenced by I don't have a Glock and my only polymers are Kel-tec pocket guns and a P60 that I bought during the 60 minutes segment that brought so much attention to them.

you should check pistol-forum.com for a thread titled "The PX4 Compact might be my DA/SA Glock 19" that was started by Ernest Langdon
My love of Px4 was informed by
- Youtube review by LifeSizePotato and him putting Px4 on the Top 10 list
- The aforementioned Pistol-Forum threads
- Advocacy by Chris Baker of LuckyGunner
- Renting it

When I came into the store to buy my Px4, they had a 92X there too. I only had to hold both to decide that 92X was far more pleasurable, so I bought it instead. Both of them are too large for me to carry.

Every year or so I flirt with the idea of buying a PX4. I like the idea of the rotating barrel. I am not sure whether I’d shoot it or not, and I generally don’t like polymer.

You can also always go with a Langdon Tatical version. The Honest Outlaw reviewed it and said it was a great pistol and the best version of the Px4 to get. Or was it TFBTv that said it?

I've been eyeballing the PX4 since it was introduced back in 2004. Other than the grip texture, and Langdon does include Talon Grips with their gun, Langdon improved everything on the gun that I was "iffy" about.

My LTT PX4 Carry (full size) came with the Carry levers, which I think are much better than the "batwing" levers. It is a "G" decocker only model rather than an "F" model safety/decocker. I prefer the LTT sights over the factory 3 dots. The LTT gun also comes with the Competition Trigger Group, and mine also has the NP3 coated Optimized Performance Trigger Bar, and the LTT trigger job, which is really, really nice.

If you do like the PX4, the LTT versions are the best versions. I realize you could probably put this gun together yourself, but I'm not a fiddler, and admittedly for a price, LTT did all the mods for me. I'm very happy with the pistol. For me, choosing the LTT PX4 was the "easy button".

There is a rebate out for the PX4 for $75 but mine hasn't come in yet. Supposed to be sent to you under 10 weeks , it's been since july since I sent mine off.

I found a compact 40 on sale for $299 and couldn’t pass it up. I think the rotating barrel really does help with recoil reduction. I considered it and a CZ compact as potential carry guns and went with the CZ based mostly on intangible factors.

I got an update!

I went out to find PX4 that I could actually handle with no luck. One store i went to had just about every handgun under the sun but no Beretta. I looked around and asked some questions and we came up with 3 handguns to look at that fit my need. Ambidextrous, easy to rack slide, light weight, and decent sights. We looked the SW shield plus, the Sig 365 (i think thats the number) and the Glock 43X. The SW shield is nice, good trigger and easy to rack slide. The Sig was OK but I could not get the slide release to move-- and the trigger was meh!! The Glock fit like a glove, great trigger, good sights, easy slide release, reversible mag release, light weight.

I'm going with the Glock and will pick one up next week. This will be my first experience with Glock.

If you're close to the Lehigh Valley, I have both a 9mm and .40S&W PX4 Storm you can try out at a range. They're both full size though. Send me a private message if you're interested.

Only tried any PX4, once. It was a Compact 9mm. Enjoyed it very much!

Had I not already committed some cash to a German -commercial-Sig P225, I gladly would then have searched for a PX4 Compact.

My son had one in 40 cal. One of my friends had an inox 9. Comparing my Glock 22 and the 40 cal storm the beretta recoil was lighter and the gun felt more controllable. I like the grip angle on the beretta better. The barrel does take a little juggling to get back in correctly the first time you reassemble them.

I would have liked to handle one but no dice. I did pick up the Glock 43X and will be giving it a test drive in next couple days. Gonna start with some 115 and 124 ball ammo to get a feel for this thing.

I started looking at the PX4 Compact for several reasons. It is ambi and I'm a lefty. The weight looks reasonable and from what i have read, the rotating barrel seems to help with felt recoil. I have some nerve damage in my left hand so this is something that is important. I currently have a Beretta 81 which i handle just fine and do carry it. I would like to know your likes and dislikes for the PX4.

So an interesting story regarding the PX4. A buddy has a PX4 compact in .40 and a couple of years ago we were out out our ranch. He decided to wade across the river (not a huge river, about 40 ft wide). Anyway, hit a deep spot and went down. Was wearing a cheap nylon holster and the fall/force of the water ripped the holster off his belt. Pistol and holster gone in about 4-5 foot deep water. We searched and searched but didn't find it. He went back a couple of times. Fast forward to a year later and the water levels were pretty low due it being end of irrigation season so he went back for one more look. Poked around right where he fell and to my amazement, dug up that pistol, still in the holster. After a lot of clean up and oiling, that thing still functions fine. I don't personally like the ergonomics for my hands but it is a pretty durable unit!

I've had 3...1 in 9 (Langdon worked that one over and it's real, real good); 1 in 40 and 1 in 45. Got rid of the 40 as the caliber was redundant vis-a-vis the 9 was slick! and the 45 has a big bullet....so why keep the 40.

Very, very satisfied with the platform and the 9 is one of my four carry guns: S&W 642 for pocket carry, PX4 for 9mm, SW/Walther P99 compact if I want .40 and Smith 4513 for the big bullet.

I’ve got 2, the compact and subcompact. They are very soft shooting with superb ergonomics. The only downside is they are both a little chunky for a CCW. Otherwise, fantastic guns.

please start a new thread with your thoughts on the glock 43x…i’m looking hard at it and the g48. thanks!

I just tried the PX4 compact and full back to back last night. Unfortunately not a ton of rounds through either though. It was really hard to definitively say which one was “better,” they feel very similar. I think that means the compact wins for me simply because it’s a little more practical to carry. I have a Taurus PT99 for the full sized 9mm experience. The PX4 fits my (small) hands noticeably more comfortably than the PT99. Recoil felt about the same. I like the PX4 DA trigger a lot more than the Taurus. SA about equal -good, but not 1911-level good.

While my choice was the full size, I believe Ernest Langdon also prefers the Compact.

I'm pretty sure for him, if choosing a full size pistol, he's probably picking the 92. The PX4 Compact gives him a smaller and lighter gun than the 92 Compact, which is actually a pretty sizable gun.
